Sunday, Davis overcame an opening-series benching by coach Tony Sparano to help hold Jags leading receiver Mike Sims-Walker to one catch for six yards.

“I blanketed my guy,” he said. “I didn’t give him a chance to catch the ball.”

Davis also played a key role on a couple of fourth-quarter defensive stops of Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew.

Earlier, Davis had taken a bad angle a 13-yard run by Drew on 4th-and-1, but helped stop him on a 3rd-and-4 with the game on the line. “I learned,” Davis said.

All I have to say is check the ego at the door and continue to learn from your mistakes. I hope he stays on track.

A big head will not help in a play off push.

Its pro sports, him believing he is good, is a good thing. You have to have belief so when you get burnt you have the belief to come out of it.

More praise than bashing of Henning from the comments section. Not used to seeing that since I'm usually getting my Fins info here and it's almost all Henning bashing. Have to say I agree with the praise that Henning has been one of the best play-callers we've had in a long time.

Vontae should have all the confidence in the world when he has pick off Brady and not only that took it out of Moss's hands. I hope this guy becomes a pro bowler for years to come.

Confidence is a good thing. Its great to watch our young lions develop into hardend vets.

he's gotten better and better as the season has gone along. he had a rocky preseason and first couple of games but he's continued to improve and learn from his mistakes. gotta like that.

on the other side of the field, smith has gone in the opposite direction since the preseason. i'm not worried just yet but having some of that confidence rub off on him couldn't hurt.

He's developed nicely as the season has progressed.

Sean Smith on the other hand...

Vontae has been playing great. For a rookie starting at corner I couldn't be much happier. I guess I'm in the minority, but I think Smith is playing pretty well considering how new he is to the position. I think this is only his 3rd year playing corner so lets give him a little time.

:crazy: You really think Henning is good? REALLY? WOW
