I was doing some observations to the 1st quarter of our schedule and I noticed we got back to back games @ home vs division rivals. We got the Bills on week 4 and Jets on week 5. I believe we could come out with wins there and be 2-0 in the division right off the start.

The Patriots play no division games in that period but have a tough schedule @ the Eagles on week 1 and vs the Giants in week 4. Those games will be shoot outs and I think the Giants will top them off once again. This will put the Patriots @ 1-1 but with no divison games.

The Bills will be suffering w/o Lynch for the suspensions and the Jets will have a low scoring offense due to QB play. Putting together back to back division wins will put us in sole posession of 1st place in the AFC East early in the season. I hope we can keep that lead and be crowned AFC East champs again. Any thoughts?

Division games are very important. We need to go at least 4-2 and hopefully 5-1 or 6-0 against the division. We saw how very important all the tiebreakers can be.

That's nice. But you are looking at New England's Preseason schedule.

Sure the Dolphins play the Jets and Bills at home in weeks 4 and 5. But the Patriots play them in week 1 and 2. New England's first 5 games are

Home to Buffalo
Away at NYJ
Home to Atlanta
Home to Baltimore
Away at Denver

by week three we will reasonably be able to see how we are in our division

You are right, I was looking @ pre-season. This pc from work has a very old browser. In that case, we could be tied with NE for the AFC East if we beat the Jets and Bills. My bad. I was right on the Bills and Jets though.

The Jets and Bills will lose vs the Pats which will put them 2-0. Then we will beat them too and be 2-0 also. This is a NE/MIA race and we all know it.
