He turns a dial inside his black Infiniti QX56, cranking up the bass on a Trick Daddy song playing at a dull thud. His soon-to-be trademark smile starts to grow.

''This hasn't even been released yet,'' says Dolphins linebacker Channing Crowder, who snagged an early copy of the upcoming album when he was hanging out at the rapper's South Florida studio with him. ``Damn good, right?''

In many ways, Crowder hasn't changed since his days at the University of Florida, where he starred for two years before jumping to the NFL in 2005. He still has that playful Joker-wide grin and those same loose-flying dreadlocks that bounce to this beat.

Still can't get enough of that Dirty South rap. Still talks fast and colorfully, maybe even a bit too fast or a tad too colorfully for the taste of some. And he still bellows at every joke that's even halfway funny.

nice read thanks, good to get a break from all the negativity and read a good article on a good player

god... I love that kid...

He will be taking Zach Thomas's spot and will have stats just like him, I would like to see Crowder get up to 260 pounds though, he said he can easily do that without it effecting his play. Imagine how dominant he would be with that size.

Love this kid, he has such a pleasant way about him and love the way he plays. He will be a very suitable replacement for Zach one day.
