Dolphins cut A.J. Francis, promoted Mike Hull from practice squad
2:12pm - 14 Nov 15

@AaronWilson_NFL

@MiamiDolphins have promoted LB Mike Hull from the practice squad and waived DT A.J. Francis.@apoupartFins @MiamiDolphins

Francis seemed like he had more upside. Hull is stiff. He should fit right in with our lbs

Maybe they plan on seeing if they have better options Sheppard. I can't imagine worse.

I was wondering if Hull was going to get a call up. I liked his instincts in the preseason.

Shame about Francis. He has potential but doesn't seem for whatever reason to be able to stay healthy and get the ball rolling on his career. At the beginning of the season I envisioned Francis and Phillips being our next generation of Bowen and Gardner. Wish him the best.

I still would rather see Anthony Johnson back as a tackle. Provided he learn not to jump offsides every other snap.

Hull isn't stiff. He's not particularly fast (though not slow); he's lacking in explosive power; and he's short; but agility is one of his primary strengths.

So next question is will he actually get any defensive snaps or will it be just special teams, be curious to see what the coaches decide.

Something they had been severely lacking in this LB corps. I doubt he gets much playing time though.

:lol: we were thinking the same thing. No to this week, but maybe next week, though I highly doubt it with this staff.

Let Hull play the rest of the season to see if he will be part of the plan for 2016. We need to examine the roster.
I think he will be better than Sheppard who is always out of position and lacks intensity and toughness.
Tough break for Francis. He will likely get resigned by the Pats. Better for him actually.
This team is not going anywhere his year. It is like a 20 game preseason.

Hull had flashes during pre-season. Glad to see he might get some playing time.

what is the NFL record for rookie LB UDFA's on a roster? that speaks ****ing volumes about our LB talent level

Youth movement! At least we get to see what we've got finally.
