The Dolphins purge along the offensive line continued Friday with the release of starting left guard Jeno James, according to a source.

James, who started the first nine games last season before two subsequent surgeries on his right knee ended his season, was signed through 2009.

We absolutely must be confident we can sign one of the premier OL in free agency. Otherwise, why take these risks letting our guys hit the open market if we didnt plan on USING this new cap space to improve?

Good to see him out of here, thank god. He was overpaid and never lived up to his contract. If Big Kev who was outstanding for us got cut well James should too. Next on the list should be Wilkinson. Go snag Dielman Mueller.

I think this could signal us going after Leonard Davis. I printed a link a couple weeks ago that Mueller is a fan of his... anyway, the link below says LD is interested in coming to Miami. Cutting all these O linemen is crazy, so there must be a method to the madness... Dielman and Davis? Yeah, I'd be happy with that.

Don't get me wrong.. I thought Jeno was an excellent signing when we originally got him. I just don't think he ever lived up to the hype, and or the contract IMHO.

He was not a bad player at his position, but he never returned to his form that he had in Carolina. Did he lack the same fire that he had during that Super Bowl run with the Panthers? I don't know.. That is something only he could answer, but he didn't play at that same level again.. If he did.. I'm sure they would have paid the man his 2.5 Mil.

thats the sad part, he was one of our better lineman and he was nothing but solid at the most. that speaks a lot. Carey is clearly our best and can be an Elite RT one day.

I'm hoping we get Dielman and Dockery. :) LJ will prob get moved to LT if we dont pick up a LT.
