PFF has a series of good articles on tackling efficiency by position. This is based on their signature stats and completely different from their grading.

At safety, Jones was VG at #6. Delmas was not top or bottom but, ranked #35. I looked up coverage and Jones was #19, with Delmas at#10. A good showing when they were both able to play. I'm thinking Delmas would be good to re-sign if healthy.

At CB, Grimes was the worst. Finnegen was #56. In cover, Grimes was #36, and Finnegen was at #54. Hopefully, Grimes comes back to 2013, and Finnegen has to be gone.

I'm sure according to miko, Grimes is a better tackler than Luke Kuechly.

Yeah, Grimes does not get paid to be a tackling machine, and had that one horrible game when he missed like 5 tackles. I thought his coverage was off but, not that low.

FWIW, NFL stats had him at #43 and Finnegen at #18. They do not have safeties listed, and do not rank tackling.

CORRECTION- NFL has their rankings from worst to best. Grimes was #30, and Finnegen was #55. Knew that did not make any sense. :)

Agree, Delmas healthy and Jones not missing 4 games makes for a VG duo.

I very much like this combo, but would love to have Michael Thompson in the mix. Rotate these guys in and keep them fresh and hopefully healthier as the season goes on. Have a young project safety on the practice squad when Delmas gets hurt again. If Delmas does come back it should be incentive based on snaps and/or games played.
