I remember when we picked up Trace Armstrong and everyone thought that he was at the end of his career. He played at couple of productive years with us and then we thought he was done. So he went to the raiders(?) and was productive for them before finally hanging it up. Hopefully, Wake has a couple of years left in him.

SAN DIEGO – The second-oldest player on the Miami Dolphins' roster also is one of the hottest.
Cameron Wake, 34, is a four-time Pro Bowler. But what he is accomplishing through the first nine games of this season may be his most impressive feat during his tenure in Miami. The eight-year veteran is leading the Dolphins with seven sacks, which includes a dominant run of 5.5 sacks in the past three games.
Wake had two important sacks against quarterback Philip Rivers in Sunday’s 31-24 win over the San Diego Chargers.

“He’s really made it tough on every tackle he’s gone against,” Dolphins coach Adam Gase said Monday. “The way he’s coming off the ball and how physical he’s playing, it’s been impressive to watch. For a guy that’s been playing as long as he has, he’s playing with great energy. You can see the passion for the game and the passion he has for this team by just the way he plays.”
It wasn’t supposed to look this easy for Wake. Last year he suffered a major Achilles injury that ended his season. Wake, one of the fittest players on the team, was diligent in his rehab and made sure he was ready for the start of the regular season.
Even still, Miami’s coaches planned to keep Wake on a limited pitch count early in an effort to keep him healthy for a full season. Only long snapper John Denney (37) is older, and he plays a less physical position.
But circumstances change throughout the course of a season.

His level of play this year is amazing. I admit that I thought he was probably done coming back from the Achilles tear at his age. Im so happy that I was flat out wrong...

I believe Wake will play late into his 30's and still be productive barring injuries of course. I bet if you looked at every player past or present in the NFL I doubt you'd find many who take care of their bodies the way Wake does.

Cam takes incredible care of his body. He eats really healthy food (and has for many years) and dedicated his training to extreme levels. While he is getting on in football years, he is in incredible condition. A friend who has seen him in the showers remarked that he has the best body on the entire Dolphins team.
Cam Wake has not forgotten that he went undrafted coming out of Penn State and then Giants cut him, he worked in a gym to earn a buck and built himself up before heading to the CFL where he excelled and then subsequently got the opportunity in Miami. Don't forget Parcells and Sparano left him on the bench for a year before giving him an opportunity when Jason Taylor departed. Cam Wake is one of the best and he deserves the opportunity to be part of a successful Dolphin team.
Yes, I am an unashamed Cam Wake fan and I know I'm not alone.

I'm incredibly impressed by wake and it seems like every single season there's even more reason.

I've said it once and I'll say it again. Cam Wake is the kind of person I want kids to look up to as a role model. There there aren't many athletes I'm comortable saying that about but I would be shocked if he isn't regarded the same way 20 years from now.
