The Ravens are ranked 16th defensively, but 30th against the pass, a weakness Miami will look to exploit. The Dolphins lead the NFL in redzone attempts, but barely 50% have resulted in touchdowns. Touchdowns will be critical in keeping pace with the Ravens.

We must score, that means no showboating one handed attempts at easy TD catches. A shootout does not favor Miami, but Tannehill will have a career game. Miller left and Miller right with short passes to Landry will begin the show to get the juices flowing. Yet, this is the week the Dolphin coaching staff hands the ball to Ryan Tannehill.

At some point Ryan Tannehill is going to complete at least 3 passes for over 50 yards in a single game, it is inevitable. This is the game it will happen.

The Miami deep pass will makes its appearance this week and the NFL will be on notice...

The Dolphins and Ryan Tannehill have arrived.

NICE FEEL GOOD ARTICLE!! GO PHINS!!

And the cheerleaders will forget to put on their uniforms before the game...

Miami has weapons to go down field, but the QB can't throw accurately past 20 yards and the offensive line can't pass protect for more than 2.5 seconds. yeah, not really going to happen.

There is something about the Dolphins when they go up against certain opposing teams' stat lines or certain weaknesses, they never exploit them. I hope they do, but history hasn't been kind to us. "Broncos have a weak and porous O-line!" 1 sack and barely any pressure because they exploited our run D. "Jet's have a horrendous pass D." 0 pass TDs. "Jets have had only 4 picks all season!" Crazy pick happens. There's more, but I'm too lazy to care.

It also works in the converse. Chargers were supposed to have a dominant offense and we smashed them up. The lesson? Stats don't seem to matter when we play. Just go out there and win. Tannehill can hit any receiver deep except Wallace, our only legit deep threat, so I'm not holding my breath. I would love to see him connect, but I would much rather win the way we have been winning and stop giving a **** about the aesthetics of his pass game and just focus on the results of his play.

Hartline has shown the ability to go deep. He is only 1 of 5 this year with a drop but, was 6 of 14 for 170 with a drop last year. Clay has shown some ability as well. Only 1 of 4 this year for 35 but, 2 of 6 last year for 85 and 2 drops. This year, Sims is 2 of 4 for 56 as well.

In the NFL, 40% accuracy is good and, with the drops, these 3 have done well with RT throwing deep, although on a limited basis.

It makes sense that Hartline should be able to get open deep, with Wallace getting so much attention. Would be nice to see. Still, i'm with MiaLuv13, they can dink and dunk all day if they get the win. Remember Rich Gannon and the Raiders? They Dinked and Dunked to the superbowl.

But I think we all know this- It can be talked about and talked about, but who really believes it happens? When it does, it'll either be a fluke, or another step in Ryan's maturation process if real

Not so. The year before Wallace got here Hartline caught 11 0f 24 for 421 yards with 1 drop. That accuracy is a t the top of the NFL, and was done vs #1 coverage with RT throwing. Our OL was better that year.

i was tracking with you until the part about hitting any receiver but Wallace deep. We haven't hit anyone deep behind the D al year. Our lack of 30+ yard passing plays is alarmingly low.

i agree. We all watch the games and in almost 3 years he has two bombs for TDs - that's it. One vs Arizona rookie year and one vs Carolina last year. I'm talking deep balls behind the defense. Yet, people on here muster up these after the fact stats to feel better or something. These include catch and runs, 15-20 yards strikes where the receiver catches and falls down, etc. I dare anyone to find 5 GIFs of our deep passing game defined as hitting a receiver behind the D for TD within the last three years. Pass must be 30+ yards. Unless I'm missing something I believe my count of 2 is accurate.

PS: for extra credit I'm happy to count drops that were perfect throws like the Dion Sims one vs NE this year. So "should haves" can be counted too.

If you are right I will buy you a house

I'm actually thinking of benching Tannehill for Stafford in my fantasy league. I mean, doesn't the jets have one of the worst secondaries in the league? And tannehill screwed me over last week.

This is the week to go deep but the oline has to hold up

This offense has already established an identity. I like the way we move the ball.
