What in the hell us going on when we go on the road? The fact that we're 3-2 on the road with this type of play is incredible

IMO, the distraction from the away crowd is leading to constant defensive penalties.

Or we like messing with the away fans, getting their hopes up, and then scoring at will in hyper drive.

Something else I thought of. Miami matched up against Lamar Jackson and Justin Fields on the road.

The Dolphins have really struggled with those multi-dimensional quarterbacks. Those are just two of the games, but something to consider.

I think the Jets game was an aberration. It was 19-17 with less than 10 minutes to play and a couple of turnovers really pumped up that score.

Well to be fair, we caught Fields when he was getting hot and LJ is LJ. But the trend is worrisome, we can't always win playing like that.

I think our LB unit is a huge reason for this. Seems like QBs have been running over us at will for over a decade, kinda like how all TEs turn into Randy Moss against us (albeit that seems to be improving).

Even McD admitted he was at a loss with Fields scrambling thru our D. Dude was so frustrated he could only ask Fields to "stop".

A number of factors.
Injuries to the secondary starters affected the last few games. Jax and Fields were away games.
TT was out against CIN and NYJ. That matters.
DET has been scoring around 30 most of the season.
I'm not impressed with the D, but there are factors.

So your saying don't save a seat for Boyer on the next road trip?

No worries, I sent him a text the other day reminding him to update his Linked in profile.
Without Boyer finding Kader we would be dead last across the board.

With the introduction of Chubb and X playing better we will shape up.

The scheme is not the issue, this narrative is stale.

Josh Boyer is still getting fired.

Clinging to average isn't in the cards. Baker and Ogbah are perfect examples of clinging to average.

Missed tackles are a problem. In watching the better defenses, they don't miss as many tackles as Miami.

It's something that needs to improve. At times, the Dolphins defense has shown up big so there is hope there.

Respectfully disagree.

Ravaged by injuries - Byron Jones, Brandon Jones, Nick Needham, Trill Williams, Emmanuel Ogbah. That's three on your preseason top 5 CBs + X been battling all year.

Top notch run defense, which was our weakness under Flo.

Has been forced to play less of our aggressive man / blitz packages hence the evolution to playing more C2 and C3.

Also put the premium on acquiring a Chubb to get pressure with our down 4.

Last week for the first time under Boyer or Flo we consistently got pressure with 4 or 5.

Not an accident.

Good coaching means adjusting as needed and he has done that.

The D is only getting better and this take won't age well.
