Dolphins don't want to embarass Jason Taylor

There are other things to think about as well. The Dolphins want to be absolutely certain they make a correct call on Taylor because he is something of a gamble for them. If they sign him and he proves drastically diminished in training camp, the team is concerned about embarrassing him and offending its fan base by having to cut him.

Sign him for 2 years at 2.5 mil and have him split time with Joey prolonging both mens careers.

There's also the possibility that he (possibly both sides) are just waiting/stalling for now, so he doesn't have to attend all of the training camp events. Some vets were nortorious for doing this as a way to avoid all the extra camp stuff. FO may be doing it to see if something better comes along or others progress faster than expected. All in all, I think he signs a 1 (2 at most) year deal for a somewhat reasonable rate and plays a specific "role" where he comes in for certain plays/downs, but not 100% of the time.

I hope they give the snaps to Wake...he could be the future for us and JT is the past....I lived JT when he played for us but HE wanted out and got his wish.....let him stay away imo and play the younger guy and see what we have with him.
