Dolphins Draft

IMO if Brady Quinn falls to us in the draft, obviously we take him...bad sugar bowl game and not playing in the Senior Bowl could hurt his stock, so theres a slight possibility of him falling to us... However, most likely Quinn is taken before we can get him and from looking at the available players, I believe the Fins should trade down...
We could trade down to the middle/late 1st and get a guy like Ted Ginn who many people like but is not worth a 9th overall pick.. Or if Ginn is gone, we could go with Levi Brown- but I feel there are tackles in the second round with similar potential to Brown.
With the trade down, maybe we get an additional 2nd and 3rd (not sure how the value works) and with the 2nd picks we can take OT- Gaithers from MD or Ugoh (sp?) from Ark and with the other 2nd round pick, maybe Daymeion Hughes (sp?) who doesnt have the speed but is a ball hawk- something the Fins desperately need or maybe Lamar Woodley as a pass rushing OLB...Than with the extra 3rd round pick, get Mason Crosby, kicker from colorado if still available. We would still have another 3rd round pick - maybe Brian Leonard if available- Darion Barnes was nothing special and a more athletic fb who can catch could be a major plus. Imagine a 3 back set with Ricky, Ronnie and Leonard. With that trade down alone we would add major depth to the biggest areas of concern. Something many people arent talking about, with all those extra picks, maybe we can find a more conditioned TE- but thats not as important as our other needs. After watching Dallas Clark last night, having a TE with speed and great catching ability is a major plus. Anyways, Those draft picks plus one BIG FA addition or maybe 2 mediocre moves would be nice and more importantly, very possible.

love UF, great run this year but Leak is no NFL QB... Leak looks like a bad version of Cleo Lemon

Hmm...interesting ideas for sure. However, if Quinn and Russell aren't available, then perhaps it would be best to spend our first round pick on either the best OT, OG, WR, or CB available and then spend our second round pick on the best QB available, such as Drew Stanton perhaps or that chap from Stanford? The more I look at things, the more I like that other receiver from USC better then Ginn, Dwayne Jarrett. I know he's not as fast, but he's big, and can perhaps get the separation he needs to do that which is all we want in a receiver that is to catch the dang ball and make plays...

jarret is to much like mike williams im all about drafting robert meachum

Mason Crosby in the third round would be a huge mistake. Many of today's top kickers were undrafted so that would be a waste of a pick IMO. Ask the Raiders how well the Janikowski pick worked out.

I feel there arent any good Olinemen at the 9th spot. Wrs.. Only two worth taking are Calvin Johnson who will DEFINITELY be gone and Dwayne Jarrett who, although a guy with great hands, isnt a burner. We already have Chambers, Booker, and Hagan and pretty big recievers who arent complete burners. I think the Fins biggest need is cornerback as our secondary is horrendous but I dont know if theres a great top 10, shutdown corner. Drafting a CB with the 9th pick could be another Jason Allen pick, a really big gamble that, SO FAR, isnt working out. Any other Qb could be taken, but not till much later in the draft, round 3 or later. No Qbs worth taking in Round 2.

True but he would be cheaper than Mare and we'd have a guy thats proven. Its not like were picking up a WR who MIGHT not make it in the NFL.. a kicker is a kicker. He is going to guarantee us 3 pts when we need it. Mare was very unreliable the past couple of years. I think there is another kicker from UCLA we could possibly get in Round 6 or 7?

Crosby in the third? Maybe, but only if we have already gotten an IMPACT olineman, and probably a monster OLB.

Brady Quinn falling to 9?:sidelol:

#9 Alan Branch - there are a lot of reasonable ways miami could go with this pick, both ted ginn and dwayne jarrett are in play, as is leon hall and laron landry however, if Alan falls to the 9th pick i cant see miami passing him up, the fins starting defense tackles are either aging or late round long shots, and none of them are locks to be starters and adding clogger like Branch would help anchor this defense for years to come.

BPA at pick number 9 valuing speed strength and upside is multi-talented 19 yr old Omobi Okoye. At 6-2 315, 4.8 or better 40 at age 19 smart enough to have a psych degree completed in 3.5 yrs after entering college at age 16. He can play nose or DT and has speed to play DE. This guy explodes through offensive lines and would allow us to get rid of greybeards Traylor, Wilkinson,Holiday, Carter and Zgonina costing a lot of money and get better quickly.Thats over 15 million off the cap. If we get him and the Wright brothers and Fred Evans along with Roth broken in early, they will have us as the number 1 or 2 defense by midseason. Cameron will get the kinks out of our offense, hopefully with Lemon leading the team.
Getting a LT in free agency along with Adelia Thomas or Zak Deossie in the draft should cure the LB speed on the outside. Now we need a safety that lays the lick like Yeremiah bell but faster. Maybe CB also in Free agency and another Wr later in the draft with a Qb to groom 6th rd. Meuller is so good he got four Qb's in one yr in later rds at New Orleans. One of them was Jake Delhomme. They have all started at some time since.

I never said that I wanted to keep Mare, in fact I really hope hes gone next year. How can you say that a rookie kicker is a proven commodity? Yes the act of kicking a ball really is no different, but kicking in the NFL has more pressure than kicking for Colorado. Justin Medlock from UCLA would be a much wiser investment if we did draft a kicker, but I don't want to see it happen either way.

Matt Lienart was supposed to be a top 5 pick last year and the year before that so was Aaron Rogers. Anything can happen in the NFL Draft.

at under 300 lbs there is no way he can play NT in the NFL. He'll play DT in a 4-3 or DE in a 3-4.

:dolphins: We dont need no big name guy out of the draft we need a alright guy at least we should pick a corner back the problem with are offense we are not workin like a team we have the players to be a superbowl team and later in the draft pick some OF Line people to protect are QB if you think we have a bad RB think again Ronnie Brown is a good RB If u think we hae a bad QB think again we have Culpepper, Joey, Cleo all they need is pass protection and are TE is goo Randy McMicheal are WR are good we got Marty Booker and Chris Chambers there great we did not do good because we need more team work and better play callin now we got it but lets get Moss if u think we have bad WR then Super Bowl time
