Finatics8480's Dolphins Camp Notes 8-9-12

Odrick was in street clothes. Odrick did not appear seriously injured or hurting. He also had no compression sleeves on. He watched all of practice from the sidelines pacing back & fourth & occasionally kneeling on one knee.

Hartline was with a trainer on the sideline & I noticed progress from Saturday's scrimmage. You see on Saturday Hartline was just on the sideline not doing anything, tonight he was actually try to put weight on the leg & trying to make cuts & running.

Two practice that I attend now & Chris Hogan continues to stand out at me. Fins are using him in the slot & he catches everything thrown his way. Also QBs like to lean on him when he is in there.

Ochocinco had to have had his worst day at camp with 3 dropped passes. He opened up camp with a beautiful double-move on Sean Smith catching a deep bomb from Garrard, but struggled after that. Love Ocho, but Fins are missing Hartline & it shows, at times Ocho looks amazing, but Im starting to worry he is scared of getting hit. Everytime he hears foot steps it's a drop pass.

Davone Bess appears to be the QBs favorite target out there, also love how Naanee uses his body & strength against defenders.

It would be easy to say Naanee or Bess were the best WR out there tonight, but Im going outside the box & picking Chris Hogan.

BJ Cunningham & Marlon Moore made good catches but nothing to impressive. The biggest negative of Practice: Too many dropped passes from Ocho, Pruitt, Wallace, Fuller & Matthews.

Kept a close eye on Garrard today, he simply moves the chains & is money in the redzone. Best QB on the team right now.

Pat Devlin continues to impress the hell out of me & everybody in the stands. Also noticed Coach Philbin standing right behind Devlin & paying close attention to him. Devlin looked better than Moore tonight. He moves the chains, finds open receivers & has seriously improved his arm strength. Here is a safe bet, I bet Devlin does not play in preseason, you can't show him to other teams if you plan on sticking him in the PS.

In my opinion Tannehill & Moore did not have a good night. Moore is too hot & cold, he also continues to turn the ball over. Tannehill threw to many throws into double coverage & saw some miss communication with his WRs. With that said, I do love how Tannehill is always looking downfield, he is always looks for the big play first before checking down. He also continues to audible at the line of scrimmage & you can tell he knows the offense, impressive for a rookie, but he still needs time. I would describe Ryan Tannehill right now as a Gunslinger QB.

Jimmy Wilson & Reshad Jones both came up with interception from Matt Moore

Soliai was on fire tonight he batted a pass & would have blown up Bush if tackling was allowed.

There was a scuffle between Garner & Starks, Garner lost his helmet.

While Marcus Thigpen appears to be the starting KR, I like Miller more at KR cause he really flashes in the open field & has some sick moves

Expect Bess & Fasano to have big years, there are series where the QBs just lean on Bess cause he is constantly open & Fasano is becoming a serious red zone weapon

Top QBs: Garrard & Devlin.

TE sighting: Both Les Brown & Egnew had big catches from Pat Devlin down the middle. Egnew needs to seriously bulk up. Dolphins are lining up Clay & Fasano a ton in the slot as WR. I don't think any LB on this team besides Dansby & Burnett can cover Clay, artist at getting open. Also Fasano is going to have a big year, he is a red zone weapon. Clay, Fasano & Brown all had touchdowns tonight. Garrard connected with Fasano, Moore coonected with Clay & Devlin connected with Brown.

UDFA of the Night: DE Derrick Shelby started for Odrick & was ahead on Olivier Vernon. He looked good out there creating pressure, looks like he made the most of his opportunity & coaches must be impressed with him to have in with the 1s.

Play of the Night: Fins were running situational drills, there was like 2-minutes on the clock, Fins were down 20-17 & Garrard drove the team all the way to 25, Spikes the ball with 4 seconds left. Garrard pass to Fasano & connects for TD. It was awesome

Other Tidbits:

After practice #HardKnocks was filming David Garrard who appeared to be sitting on top of a cooler & speaking to the cameras.

Spoke to RB Jonas Gray who Fins have statch on the PUP, he told me he is coming along just fine from his injury & getting is stronger.

Two WQAM workers who were in the stands broke news Adewale Ogunleye was there with Agent Drew Rosenhaus to workout with the Dolphins. The Miami Herald it was Alumni at Fins Camp. Adewale Ogunleye, Chris Chambers, Bob Griese & Mercury Morris were all there as spectators

Bush, Tannehill, Garrard, Bess, Hogan, Matthews, BJ & Clay stayed on the field after practice for extra work

Starting Oline: Long, Incognito, Pouncey, Hicks, Martin

Backup Oline: Murtha, Steinbach, Samuda, Garner, McDonald

Steinbach looks old & beat up

I forgot to add last night that aside from Sean Smith, Richard Marshall, Nolan Carroll & Vontae Davis I don't have a clue who will be the Fins 5th CB. Jonathan Wade seems to be getting the most work out there from the no name Corners, but he gets beat a lout & has become Ocho's personal bitch. None of the other corners have really stood out. Makes you wonder if Fins keep 4 corners & 5 safeties & have Jimmy alternate from S to Corner incase of an injury. I feel what happens with the 5th corner sport very interesting. Do you keep journeyman Wade or Safety Anderson Russell who has flashed.

This was absolutely fantastic. Thank you so much.

really appreciate it...ready to see these guys on the field friday!

Speaking of...is Griese in the booth again? I'm looking forward to the annual intoxicated mangling of names and the obligatory TB-MIA thunderstorm delay.

I believe so.

How does Hicks actually look? He's held that RG spot down pretty tight but is that because of a lack of depth behind him or do you think he's earned it?

There's no doubt in my mind that those guys all came to see Tannehill. The buzz is growing.

Starks is always pushing people in the head lol. You put a hand on him and he puts his through your face. Haha.

Also, didn't know much about Chris Hogan, but is he a good blocker? Because chest brah:

Word is going to get out on Devlin if it isn't already. If they want to retain him they're probably going to have trade or dump the loser of the Moore/Garrard battle

I knew after seeing where Derrick Shelby was on the depth chart, there might be a story to him with this team
