Last year, we beat playoff teams, and came within a game of beating a couple of bad teams to make the playoffs. Yet, there is a lot of negativism on the forum now, and it is hard to understand.

Our D is about the same, which was good, and likely better from players improving from within. On O, Tannehill is going to be better, as well as Wallace and Clay, with the RB's being the same but, should be better. The OL is the work in progress but, likely will be a bit better with LT upgraded, and on the rest we will see.

A couple of guys on the OL should not diminish what the team did last year, and as of now, that is the only spot not yet as good or slightly better. I do not agree with what Hickey has done in FA but, we shall see.

Draft a guy or two who will make an impact, and we are better than last year. I do not believe we are a legit contender but, a playoff team, and I can live with that this year. Playing an extra game or two would be more than welcome.

Am I the "Lone Ranger" here?

Not winning the division b/c Brady is still alive. I expect Baltimore and Pittsburgh to have better seasons than last year. So like always Miami will challenge for the last WC spot and probably fall short like they do.

with a better OL comes more production from the RBs
Tannehill to Wallace gotta have more production with the deep ball those factors alone should make us a playoff team combined with a top 10 D

The team can, theoretically, be better in 2014 and still finish out of the playoffs.

Last year's AFC was god awful, which allowed mediocrities like Miami to hang in until the end. If the conference isn't as weak this year, Miami could finish 9-7 or even 10-6 and not make the playoffs (assuming 9 or 10 wins doesn't take the division which is a good assumption at this point).

And while the gap with NE may be closing more every season, they still finished 4 games better than the Dolphins (even after dropping one of the head to head match-ups). That's a lot of ground to make up.

Finally, just because Tannehill can improve, and is even expected to improve, doesn't mean it's guaranteed to happen. And if it doesn't happen, all bets are off and it's back to the drawing board in 2015.

Its so hard to determine these things. I think we are a better team right now...but is that enough? I dont know...thats why we play.

What I do know is that this season and the future reside firmly on Ryan Tannehill's shoulders. He needs to keep getting better for us to have a chance.

As of now I think we downgraded our DB's, downgaded are d-line slightly, and our o-line still looks awful. Tanne should improve some but it won't be enough. 8-8

Hopefully I'm wrong, but my expectations are to be disapointed and discouraged once again. Some things don't change and the Dolphins letting me down seem to be one of them! Pray to God I'm finally wrong about this.

schedule is pretty challenging in my opinion. I see us losing two to NE and splitting with the Jills and Jets.

Brain says 8-8 no W.C. but heart says 10-6 and playoffs Baby!

I think if we can hold up this year in some more close games we wiil be good. With a decent Oline this team last year should have had 11-12 games sewn up, but they didnt. I think 10-6 is a realistic shot and minus the distractions I believe we will get there and challenge for a playoff spot.

Expectations change constantly around here. If Miami wins two games it's a outrage that they're not considered to be better or as good as the Patriots. If Miami loses two games everybody needs to be fired. And of course if Miami goes 1-1 - "Same ol crap every year - we need to make changes."

4-6 wins, this whole organization from top to bottom is a joke. 6 potential gm's turned us down....that should tell you all you need to know. hope im wrong but other than death and taxes, the dolphins sucking has pretty much been a given for the past 13 years.
