So what do you guys think i would love to have Bernard Berrian or Bryant Johnson. I like Jerry Porter but rather one of the other options. Andre Davis scares me a little he was productive last year but i dont see him as a true number 1. I also think Flozell Adams can help solidify this o-line and is only 31. I also think there are more positions to address but this would be a good start . I really would love to see a good CB come here just seem like its ever going to happen. your thoughts on these rumors. if i had to pick the wr's it would be either berrian or johnson.

All those are great options. what this team needs to do this year is make a HUGE splash in free agency to help bring in more guys. Players like coming to teams that have talent, a team that has players that can win championships. its a good way to bring people to your team also money and money makes people happy but winning makes them happier. i don't care who we bring in as long as they help this team win. I'm not going to start holding my breath and crossing my fingers in hopes of signing people that might not even come here. i've done that before and i almost suffocated to death. we just need to get players in here that want to win. We need lots of help along the oline especially if Hadnot is not resigned. Then we would need 2 guards and a tackle. We also need tons of help on the defensive side of the ball. Safties, Corners, Linebackers, and Dline, well basically the entire defense. and the offense needs a lot of help as well. Is ronnie going to be back in full form? Is john beck the answer at QB? Can ted ginn hold his own as a WR 1? Whose playing slot and WR2? Whose our TE going to be? People you have to realize this team is not going to the playoffs over night. We are a long way away and we all have to look at reality.

I would take Johnson over Berrian. I've heard that some of Chicago's passsing game blunders aren't the fault of the QBs, but also Berrian's habit of running poor routes. Johnson on the other hand will be a less expensive acquisition, and I think his skills get overshadowed playing next to Fitzgerald and Boldin.

On name to keep an eye on in the LT search...Travelle Wharton. I've followed his career since the get go, and he's turned into a technically sound and reliable player. I don't know if he has the pure strength and girth that Parcells seems to prefer, but I think Wharton could come in and move Vernon Carey back to RT.

Out of that list IMO Berrian is the only #1. Porter could be but with the debacle that has been going on with him in Oakland we really havent had a chance to see what he can be capable of... Johnson, IMO might make a decent #2 but definately not a starter

We have some $44 million in cap space. I wouldn't be surprised to see us spend a little money this offseason. If Parcells is serious about turning this franchise around, he's going to have to pay out a little to get some talent in here and get us going in the right direction. Berrian would be a nice pick up as he would compliment Ted Ginn on the opposite side. Flozell Adams would be a huge pickup as he would solidify the left side of the line.

Bernard Berrian or Bryant Johnson would be fine by me.

But Jerry Porter? No thanks.

Where did you get this number from??

From what I have read we are in the $32 Million range.

I'm suprised Patrick Crayton's name isn't beeing thrown around more around here.

enough about offense if we r going to make a splash lets do it on the defensive side of the ball...sign hamlin and either trufant or samuel..nough said

I'd rather see Trufant over Samuel in Miami. Probably cheaper and arguably a better player. I don't think Samuel is actually everything he's rated to be. Also, I'd look for the Patriots to try their hardest to retain Samuel as they really can't afford to lose him. Gay and Hobbs isn't the best cornerback lineup, and that really leaves them with no true #1.

That or I just don't like Patriots.

I've said it before, but I think Berrian makes plays happen. While watching Chicago games it's usually Mushin Muhammed making ridiculous drops and botching plays. Berrian is very quick and spent most of his time running down Grossman deep balls making them work. Even if he isn't seen as amazing, you have to look at what he's dealing with. The Bears have no running game and they switch quarterbacks faster than we do head coaches. He's dealing with a new quarterback every few games, sometimes as often as each half.

The Bears are not a great franchise for a wide reciever to thrive. They need a quarterback before anyone can rate any of their recievers.
