I know everyone wants a quarterback that leads to wins. But I can assure you, the quarterback isnt the one dropping balls, or missing tackles, or giving up those big deep plays. Sure Joey might make a few mistakes relative to a turnover or two, but only in certain situations does that completely lose the game. Last time I checked, Joey wasnt the one who missed that field goal vs the Jets.

So we have to be careful not to turn into Lions fans. Sure, some criticism of Joey is warranted. But regardless of how Joey does this weekend, I think we should support him. He is our quarterback for the moment, and if everyone starts crucifying him, it will only make him play worse.

What happened to the days of being behind your leader, even if he makes a mistake or two? Even when your 1-6, theres nothing we as fans can do except believe. Believe that Joey will make the read, deliver the throw and not make the interception.

I mean, as it stands right now, its all we have to believe. If not believe, then just hope for.

Well Said!!

I'm not quite sure what you're saying. Us Lions fans were quite supportive of Joey. He did get booed a few times but imagine winning 10 games... over a 4 year period! Fans were really upset here. It's just natural that the QB gets the initial heat for losing, then the coach (or if you've had 6 coaches in 6 years like us you blame the GM, Matt Millen).

I like Joey. I hope he goes to the hall of fame. He's a great guy, and he competes hard and talks hard, he always wants to win - and as a fan it's hard not to support him.

You guys SHOULD be carefull though because you're saying exactly what Lions fans said over that 4 year period "his completion % is low because all his passes are being dropped!", "he doesn't have a supporting cast!", "his int's are the receivers fault!" bla bla bla bla bla!. Be carefull. I hope he breaks through and becomes great, but he can also make you content with mediocraty.
