Good post. Lets get Coles, Mcfadden or Bodden, and Jason Brown, and maybe some special teams players like kevin burnett, and id say wed have one damned good offseason, even if we just get coles and brown which i think we will.

Read before we signed crowder we were only 20 million under the cap.

asking for coles, McFadden or Bodden and Brown along with probably resigning Yeremiah Bell is WAY more than we will do.

I say we lock up Yeremiah and heavily pursue Jason Brown. Then we will offer a few lower end contracts to the likes of McFadden and Bodden and we will miss out on them. I think we got a shot at Resigning Goody and if not than maybe Philip Buchanon from Tampa.

I know Pennington loved him, but does it make sense to sign Coles? Just doesn't seem like the type of WR we need to get.

Brown makes the most sense to me, then possibly one of the corners.

Now that it looks like we are going to sign Bell, getting Brown and Bodden would make this off-season tremendous if you ask me.

Then go WR, LB, and CB heavy in the draft.

This cap number was as of January 22 after the Cam wake signing. Also this cap number is with the added 4 mill every team got.

So Vernon's contract, Channing's Contract, and Wilson's all count against that ($32 mill) number.
So we have approximately 14.4 million or so in cap money i believe. Remember however players contracts such as Holliday's may be restructured. and We may release some players.

Well it depends on what you read. I've seen every possible figure between 20M and 35M...

I personally don't want him but everybody around here seems to have a big hard on for him so i added him to the list.

Per wpgfishfan of TP.com:
As of January 22, 2009 we were $28 million under. Add the $4 million every team got and then subtract the likes of Vernon's, Crowder's, and Wilson,s deals and i belive we have around 14.4 million or so.

I disagree, Coles is exactly the type of receiver we need provided his contract is cap friendly. Pennington has chemistry with Coles. Ginn is the speed threat, Coles would be the possession receiver and a veteran leader to the younger WR. Bess would move back to the slot where he excels. Camarillo would be a 4th WR. Granted I like him a lot but Coles is a better WR and can help Camarillo develop further. Plus Camarillo is coming of ACL surgery.

forget Coles lets bring in mr CHAD Johnson we need some antics to take our eyes of those hidious all white uniforms that the team wears game after game. a little comedy goes a long way plus it would be worth it to see him and Joey Porter on the same team .

Well this offseason has been a success so far with wake, wilson, crowder, and carey, all we need is Brown and a vet WR and the free agency will be a total success.
