Dolphins | Frerotte Nearly Doubles Feeley's QB Passer Rating
Mon, 15 Aug 2005 13:55:58 -0700

Len Pasquarelli, of ESPN.com, reports Miami Dolphins QB Gus Frerotte's passer rating through two preseason games (84.6) is nearly double of QB A.J. Feeley's (42.7). Frerotte has thrown one touchdown with no interceptions and has led the team to 13 offensive points. Feeley has been picked off once, has not led a scoring drive and has the shortest long pass of any of the Dolphins' four quarterbacks (22 yards).

also, may be old news but now reported on KFFL

Dolphins | Frerotte Winner of QB Competition?
Mon, 15 Aug 2005 13:55:43 -0700

Greg Bedard, of the Palm Beach Post, reports Miami Dolphins QB Gus Frerotte is the apparent winner of the team's quarterback competition, although no official announcement has been made. Bedard reports that Dolphins head coach Nick Saban said that the team has gathered enough information that a decision on the opening day starter can be made, however "it's a work in progress for us." Saban added that "Gus is really smart about trying to hold the count when the team is showing a blitz or something which gives us a chance to redirect what we're doing a little bit."

Do they show Berlins QB rating? Just curious using that method of evaluation how the other 2 QBs stacked up.

After last weeks game I was ready to trade the house for a quality QB, but after watching the game again...I noticed that Frerotte's msitakes seems more correctable than Feeleys. Also an 84 QB rating is not bad at all. I believe as Gus gets more used to playing with the 1's WR he will get his timing better. Yeahh...lets keep Ferrote at 1 and try to get our future Qb through the draft or trade next year.

Actually Sage (108) and Brock (95.5) lead the team in QB rating. But they havent been given a chance to play with (and vs) 1st teamers yet in a game this preseason so those stats can be a little misleading.

Yeah, just look at Ray Lucas' rating for his preseason! Remember that experiment? Worked great in the lab, but the real world caused immediate combustion.

LOL ....

The funny thing is Feeley real world rating from last year is more than enough proof and look at Frerrote rating when he back up Culpepper whi was around 100 .

and they also have the top completion percentages Berlin with 71% and Rosenfels with 62%. Berlin would have the top QB rating if it wasn't for his INT

Yeah, just forget about the dozens of starts he made before the 2 he made with the Vikings.

By the way, Losman had a 87 rating.

You must watch a game to fully evaluate how everyone did. Statistics are just numbers and can lie. Based on scores alone we suck. However I think we have great improvements in areas. Lets just see how this pans out. Frerotte is not as good as the frerotte fans think and not as far ahead of Feeley as they think or the numbers seem.

Feeley is not as good as the supporters thought, but not as bad as the gusketeers make him sound.

Rosenfels and Brock need a good look to see if we should hang on to both. Be nice to have a young QB to groom.

thats where your wrong, Fuerotte has driven the team to 13 points in 2 games that might not seem like alot but when you think of the fact that he has played only two quarters and the fact that Feeley has played the same amount of time and hasn't lead the team to a single point it is impressive.

actually Feeley has played 3 quarters while Fuerotte has only played two
