Dolphins frontrunners for Steelers WR Mike Wallace

No, you put those words in my mouth.

Potential is just a nice word for saying a player hasn't done **** yet. Call them pro bowl talents when they actually play at that level. Until then, they're underachievers and disappointments.

Dansby is a vey good player. PERIOD. Pro Bowl is meaningless to me.

I didnt put words in your mouth. You said we may not get a top five pick so we dont even know how to rebuld right, because we wont have a shot at Barkley.

Sorry about that font color..lol I don't know how that happened. My point is we are talking about talent. There is no "if" about the talent they have. The only "if" is the consistency. Point is, they have pro bowl "talent" but need consistency to actually make pro bowls. It's not due to lack of talent that some haven't made pro bowls. These guys can be dominant if they put it together mentally and technique wise.

This is true. But again, every team has this. Perhaps I should of used the term "developed talent". We don't have enough developed talent. It's ok to be hopeful that Philbin will develop talent, I am, but some are acting like it's a sure thing, which is pretty ridiculous considering he's a first time head coach.

The term "pro bowl" isn't meant in terms of actually making it to the worthless game. I think it's just a common way of describing the elite of the league. Anybody that doesn't show up for half a season doesn't qualify.

Again, you put those words in my mouth. Not rebuilding right, I was talking about short sighted moves like signing washed up has beens like Chad Johnson instead of seeing what you have in the young players. We're not winning anything this season, so what exactly is the point of short sighted moves like that? What exactly is the point of sitting Tannehill on the bench when your other QB's are Matt Moore and David Garrard, the definition of mediocrity. Make no mistake about it, this is yet another rebuilding project going on, and short sighted moves like that are not the way you rebuild a team. Granted it could be worse, we could still be giving out ridiculous contracts to the Jake Groves and Justin Smileys of the world when we were supposed to be rebuilding.

As for Dansby, he's not a VERY GOOD player. That's the point. He might have been in Arizona, but he's certainly been a disappointment here. Last year especially. He was out of shape and sucked for a large portion of the season. Not my definition of VERY GOOD. Good player sure, but nowhere near as good as his salary suggests he should be. And to top it off, he fits right in with the whole improper rebuilding theme. He doesn't fit in long term here. We should get good draft compensation for him while we still can.

As for Barkley, see post 193...

Why does Dansby not fit into a 4-3 defense? He had a bad season, good players have bad seasons sometimes.

Even if they stop playing the Pro Bowl on the field the team will still be named after the season. It is exactly a way of picking the best of the best for a given year.

Dansby needs to step it up or step on down the road because the money he is being paid can be used to fill several positions. He is solid but he isn't anywhere near the money he is being paid and one of the biggest areas I have a problem with Dansby is in his leadership roll on the defense. He lacks the Zach like ability to take command on the field and a player making as much as Dansby should be very well adapted to leading his troops.

I never said he doesn't fit into a 4-3. I was referring to his age and high salary as not fitting into the future. If you can get at least a 4th round pick while shedding some salary, you do it imo.

AGREED. I guess what bothers me is people who say we have no talent therefore we have no chance and are COMPLETELY writing off our players.
