Dolphins fullbacks face crunch time

Whatever happened to Kyle Eckel? He looked like a really good prospect.
 
Beasley seems to be a bit of a dissapointment, while Barnes seems to be a nice surprise. I like what I'm seeing with Barnes, and he's catching the ball well.
 
Maybe I'm greedy, but I would try to find a way to keep both of them.

He still has a navy commitment.He would probably be playing football right now if there wasnt a real need for military personnel.

He lost his job in SF. for a reason...but I still think he can turn it around.....
 
we better keep both. we only signed beasley to a one year deal. let him mentor barnes and pass the torch next season instead of going out and getting someone to learn the system again.
 
the only thing is..barnes is hungry right now, but if he wins the job will he keep up this high energy or will he relax?

well etheir way your not going to get alot of "hunger" from Beasely....if he played with the passion..that the fb for SD does.....Cant remember his name right now..Neal I think.....he would be top 5 no question, he has the skill.......maybe just not the heart.
 
My inclination is to keep two fbs and 3 rbs. I think the trade off is between Harris and the 2nd fb. We could keep the Harris on the ps. If we cut either Beasley or Barnes I think they'll be picked up.

Is the mindset to keep Minor because of his special teams play? Because if he is being evaluated as a running back I would say the way to go would be to cut him, leaving Brown, Morris, and Harris. Then we could keep both Barnes and Beasley. Has Fred Beasley ever played special teams b/c he may be a decent special teams player?
