As a devout Dolphin fan I have been following our offseason and, more recently, start of training camp with great interest. I think that the current front office has made a commitment to building a long-term winner based on principled football opinions that have shown results in the past. The change to strong physical specimens and a no-nonsense "let the results speak for themselves with personal accountability" attitude has been particularly refreshing in light of the last few management styles that a. appeared to be more "player-friendly" b. put too much stock into gut-decisions and qualitative characteristics and c. clearly did not work well.

With that being said, I would like to start discussion on who we have now that could become a game-changing player. Think Jason Taylor batting a pass away at the line and running it into the endzone. Think Surtain, in his day, taking a pass away at a critical juncture of a game and running it the opposite way. Think Zach knocking the snot out of Jerome Bettis in the rain.

I'd like the reasoning behind your opinion on who could step up and become one of these key players. This can include arguments based on pure natural talent, results in previous seasons, physical/mental make up and how they fit within our offense/defensive schemes and whatever else you think is relevant. There's nothing wrong with opinion as long as it comes from some form of reasoning that can be followed.

CK/Blitzkrieg - I'm honestly interested in your take for no reason other than the fact that I find your writing to be intelligent, informed, and thought-provoking.

Should be fun to watch this camp and season as it goes on. Thanks.

Maybe if Merling becomes a playmaker, we can rename him "Merlin the line wizard"

Ricky. I posted it before but other fans were confused. Mark my words Ricky. He will tear this league up this year.

Ginn. People down him because that bone head Cameron chose him over dork boy who went to Cleveland. Ginn will give us real speed with real hands.

you are right on all accounts especially when talking about Ricky. Ricky could have a giant year, and there is factors that prove that. Only thing you missed was Ronnie brown, RB is a gamechanger easily, he just needs to stay healthy.

I love Ricky but I think Ronnie is the only one left that could be considered a game changer on this team. If he stays healthy.

funny i was just watching 1st and 10 on espn and they spoke of Break out/ surprise players and they said Ricky williams hahaha. thats wat im talking about

I think Ginn will be one of them. We are going to have much improved special teams this year. Just think he took back three kicks last year, only one counted but he still did it. I think he wil have a great impact just by returning kicks. I think he will be mor confident this year in doing that as well.
As a receiver I think he is going to surprise some Cbs this year with his speed. These coaches are going to get him the ball like Steve Smith, Henning isn't going to screw around with this kid. By the sounds of it he is much more polished which is really nice to hear, if he plays as quick as he is fast, the damage he will d is huge. I think he will also help as a decoy, we will take shots down the field and hit some which will scare the safeties on the other teams, which in turn will open running room once Rand R break into the secondary.

On Defense, I'm hoping that the gamechanger will be Jason Allen. With the simplified system he will get it. If he is used like an athlete back there he can come up with some big plays. Bell can be the hammer and Allen can take care of the back end. Its nice to have to hard hitting safeties to scare some opposing receivers into Alligator arms.

Ricky Williams, Ronnie Brown, Ted Ginn, Yerimiah Bell, Jason Allen........ all of those guys COULD be game changers or at least make game changing plays. Bell has done it before and Allen is oosing with potential for it. We already know that Ricky And Ronnie can do it, and Ginn is usually the fastest man on the field so there's always potential for him to break one wide open.

I think our defensive tackles, our secondary will be our biggest playmakers ,yet i might be tempted to say Joey Porter on defense and te Fasino and Ricky on offense . i still think we should have brought in olineman Faneca and drafted Mcfadden or mendenhall but if Ronnie stays healthy which is shaky if you read the practice reports we wont need the two guys i just mentioned. but i was reffering to making a impact like mcfadden would be fun to watch.
The Bess kid might be a canidate ans so might one of the other wrs.
