Dolphins GM: 'Important' to resign Kelly Stills

Of course it's important. But When Miami starts off at 5 and Kenny and his agent start off at 12. . . who is going to blink first and give in?

Miami is going to list the highest paid #3 WRs on teams around the league and feel justified . . . Kenny and his agent are going to list the guys with the most touchdowns in the league and feel justified.

Grier in other interviews already stated that both he and Mike realize that guys earn this right to be in free agency and as much as you want to bring guys back its not always going to happen. They wanted OV and Lamar back as well because they were important.

Ultimately you have a draft pick you invested in waiting in the wings. That number creeps over 6, don't expect Kenny back.

If he wants more than makes sense for us, let him go get it. I want him back but not if it means tying up too much money. The FO knows what they can afford under the cap. Do the best they can in that framework, and if it's not enough, so be it. He's a good player on and off the field but not Julio Jones.

He was really our no 2 last year and until Parker can prove he can stay on the field Kelly Stills is more important than him.

The good new for the Dolphins is this draft is very deep at WR...deeper than I had initially thought. That could help with negotiations and slow the free agent market down for WRs. We could get Kenny Stills back for cheap relatively.

If Parker is not on the field and Kenny is the main guy to watch out for outside . . . he doesn't have nearly the opportunity he has. Parker is the guy that can elevate the offense, not Kenny Stills.

Point is, everybody would like to keep Kenny . . . but you can't invest so much into the position. You have to operate like you drafted Leonte Carroo to make plays as the #3 guy on a rookie deal.

Kenny Stills is not a critical piece to this offseason when you draft Carroo. OG, 2 LBs, DE and TE are 5 positions that are much more important. If you want to draft a speedster on day 3 and use situationally or even a cheap free agent, then you do that.

Or you let Landry walk after 2018 or attempt to trade him this year.

Obviously if you can get Kenny back at that 6 million number, I'd be more than fine with it.

With Parker on a rookie contract for the next 2-3 years, it would be quite foolish to let Stills walk. Kind of like when we brought in Cameron to take over for Clay, or Mario to take over for OV, when we simply could have tagged them and had better HOMEGROWN players for another year. Miami has to start paying their players, and it all starts with Kenny.

This is a tough one but I'm sick of letting our good players walk. Hopefully he's not too expensive, I like the combo of Landry, Stills, Parker and want them back.

Resign and re-sign are two different words.

Meh. I'd go to 5-6mil. Stills as a #1 or 2 isn't nearly as effective as Stills as a #3.

That being said I like him for this offense and he had agreat yr this past yr and is young. if teams like the eagles will spend alot then we'll have to move on.

Desean Jackson would be a nice alternative if we can't get a deal done

I think we would all like to see stills back but at the right price. He was a big play guy this year and had success. Next year I imagine we will want to lean on Parker more. Stills is a nice piece but how much can you really pay? Time for carroo to step up or maybe a late round deep threat, idk. I think my ceiling would be 7ish mil per year.. Parker and Landry will be more vital to our passing game in future / and / or a tight end.
