Dolphins GM Mueller says he may not speak with Titans

Sounds that way to me too. Where there is smoke there is fire. Hopefully he does not take a page out of the Nick Saban guide to securing new job positions.

He's likely to have more power with a rookie coach than with Jeff Fisher. This is probably a better spot for him.

From reading that, I don't see how you jump to the conclusion that he wants a new contract.

"I don't know what's going on there. I have no information on it. I haven't talked to them, nor do I know that I will. I have not been involved in it and I hope I don't have to be."

from that.

I take exactly that oout of it, he says "hopefully I wont have to" meaning to me that he hopes the Dolphins give him a new contract so he doesnt have to get one elsewhere.

Personally we have to give him one, we cant afford him to leave now, no way to get someone new this late in the game after the senior bowl to get a scouting dept together, a plan developed and put into action in time to make accurate decisions.

Also who would we get better than Mueller?

Right on the money runsover, its hard for me to believe with all the thought and time Wayne took to come up with this new gameplan for the organization, that he would drop the ball on securing Mueller long term(a critical part of all of this).

Remember, here he has full control (semi-full control) in Tennesee Jeff Fisher has full control. It's maneuvering, such as "I hope I don't have to but I will if these guys don't extend my contract."

I like that another team likes our GM though. Anybody want Mularkey?

Yes, I think that is going through his mind. Even if he's fired by Miami at the end of the season, which wouldn't happen as WH will probably extend his contract, he'd surely be able to find employment easily elsewhere.

You may be right. I was kind of trying to take it all at face value, however. What I got from it was that he was hoping to stay put. Still, I can see why he would want either a new contract or at least an extension on the current one. One thing that I do believe without reservation, is that if he says he hasn't talked to the Titans, then he hasn't. The guy would have to be an absolute fool to be anything but completely forthcoming about anything like that in the wake of Saban's deceitful exit.

Bah! I think you a digging too much. Not everyone is Nick Saban...... Right?

Remember also his current contract, from the Nick Saban era, says that he answers to the Head coach and the head coach has total and finale say. Even though that is not the case know, which Cameron Knows and ecepts, it sound like he wants his contract extended to get that little nugget out of it.

I believe the Herald said that an extension with Mueller is expected.
