Dolphins goal line defense

you would have won anyway but a TD there makes it a 6 pt game. it wasn't garbage time yet.
My meaning was whenever the Jets offense is on the field it's garbage time. I should have been more clear.

the only reason you got that stop was b/c they missed a blatant hold/PI. wouldn't have changed the outcome of the game but it was a bad no call.

Meh, that basically evens out the horrible offensive PI call on the first drive of the game.

I didn't get to see the game cuz I was driving from Virginia to Ohio and listening on Sirius Radio.
I thought the jets should have gone for it on 4th and goal. But i guess getting the chippy FG helped them avoid the dreaded shutout.

At least the Dolphins are starting to make some stops on the goal line in the last few games.

For the season they are tied for 9th in Red zone defense. (49%)
But when teams get to 1st and goal that goes up to 86%

Need to see more improvement in that area as the season winds down.

you had about 3 of them on that drive that went uncalled and they took away a 1st down inside your 30 from us when it was 0-0. The calls went your way yesterday, it didn't impact the game as you badly outplayed us but the calls went your way.

Ok sure, if you say so.

Goal line d was awesome today including the game winning last play.

Held Patriots to 1 for 4 in the red zone.

Defensive Red Zone ranking is now tied for 7th best after holding the Patriots to 1 for 4.

We have now allowed 23 TD's in 47 red zone trips. (48.9%)

We are tied with Buffalo and then face Jets next week who are 5th best (45.5%)

Scoring TD's instead of FG's in the red zone is going to be critical in the next 2 weeks.

this issue has been very overblown we have a damn good redzone defense. goal to go might be a different story but overall the redone defense is great

The Dolphins defense has faced 1st and goal situations 11 times this season. They have allowed 10 TD's, worst percentage in league.
The one time the opposition didn't score a TD was Atlanta. Dion Jordan made a tackle on 3rd and 1 and forced a 20 yard FG.

The Dolphins red zone defense is much better currently ranked 11th. This is a drop from last year when they were 2nd. They have allowed 11 TD's in 22 attempts. 50%

So when teams get to our red zone getting a first down is the key. Once they get it we allow the TD almost every time.

I miss seeing those goal line stands. They can be huge momentum changers. Need to make sure Dion Jordan in playing in the red zone.

What's the league average in allowing TDs in goal to go situations. I'll bet the overall success of defenses getting a TD from the ten yard line is fairly high

Red zone is excellent, 23 of 47 (48%)
but goal line needs much improvement. 19 TD's allowed in 24 goal to go situations. (79%)

We only had 3 goal line stops all year until Patriot game. In that game we forced 2 FG's in goal to go situations. So there is much improvement in a single game.

Not sure. I'm tracking it by drive charts and it is pretty time consuming to do every team. I haven't found a site that tracks this.
I'm assuming around 75%.
