Dolphins granted permission to speak with Coyle about DC opening

Coyle's situation is incredibly similar to what Philbin's was. When you think of the major influences on the Cincy D, you think immediately of Lewis and Zimmer. Coyle's another one who's been in their shadows and has also been with the organization longer than they have. Similarities are eerie. Probably another nice man who presents himself well which would explain that long tenure.

NFL.com has them ranked as the 7th best defense. 9th against the pass and 10th against the run during the regular season. Where are you getting your info. For a bunch of nonames on his defense it appears he does pretty well.

Yeah..maybe reggie nelson can be the answer at fs.I am pretty confident he is goin to be brought in if not resigned.reshad Jones was a monster at strong safety at Georgia.I would consider releasing or trading bell and let Jones take over strong safety.that would be a solid cheap safety tandem

Oh and reggie did go to Florida so he has two good reasons to come here
 
I don't know if GB would allow him to interview but keep in mind that Mike Trgovac ran a 4-3 defense in Carolina before working with GB.

Darren Perry was also mentioned from the Packers coaching staff. He coaches the safeties but he played for the Steelers, broke into coaching with Cincinnati under Dick LeBeau and followed LeBeau to the steelers where he coached the DBs for four seasons under Cowher and LeBeau. Perry has more of a 3-4 background but he's also coached in the 4-3 with Oakland.
