Dolphins guard Donald Thomas close to returning

MIAMI BEACH - Dolphins right guard Donald Thomas landed a 100-pound sailfish at the team charity golf and fishing tournament Saturday and said afterward that his torn chest muscle is healing much quicker than expected.

If he can haul in a 100 lb sail fish, then he's not too bad off...

I'm pretty sure he tore it lifting weights. The public first noticed his absense on the first day of OTAs. Sparano first discussed the injury at the first post OTA press conference. At that time he stated Thomas had tore his pec in the weight program several weeks before.

Both EK and alleman had extensive playing time at the guard spots last year. They were better than i thought they would be. We signed a quality center who should be better than satelle. Burger might even be able to play guard. We are better than ok at the tackle spots. Barrying any mayor injuries we should be fine at the OL position even if Dthomas does not come back.

God, I hope so. I've always felt the most skittish about our o-line.

BTW, in the Jake Long is strong thread someone mentioned that Thomas was our strongest o-lineman, can anyone back this up?

He isn't great and he isn't terrible either. Both EK and alleman did a good job when smilley and Dthomas were injured last year. Like i said we have more depth this year.
