MiamiDolphins.com reports Miami Dolphins head coach Nick Saban said RB Kay-Jay Harris has done a really good job for the team during the offseason. Saban added, "We were really pleased with him last year in preseason. We were pleased with him all year on the practice squad. We really never had an opportunity to move him up. He's developed into a very good special teams player, he's got size, he's got speed and like you see in a lot of players who struggle maybe to understand concepts in the beginning of their career – new system, learning, being able to perform at a high level and not sure what they're doing – you see a tremendous difference between their first year to their second year because they have a lot more confidence in what they're supposed to do, how they're supposed to do it, why it's important to do it that way, and you see them start playing faster. And that's kind of what we've seen in him. We're kind of anxious to see how he responds through camp and through this exhibition season."

Yeah, this was in his PC. Looks like Minors replacement to me. Special Teams is key bc Minor has good ST play so as soon as KJ develops well in that area....

yet how many times have we written Minor off at the end of each season...the guy keeps comin back on the team...

Minor will have some tough competion at being the #3 guy. It will come down to who can play the best ST's out of Minor and Harris. Harris did well on ST's last season and Minor really didn't do much.

i hope kj can become a third down back so ronnie can get a breather.i dont want ronnie to get all of the load then he will get burnt out.kj i hope makes this team as the second back

Your right, each year we write the guy off and he comes back..

How many times was he in there as a RB last year? How many times in the first 4 games.

Thats why i specifically stated special teams play, that is the key. Saban even stated ST play specifically as well.

Its Minors ST team that keeps him here with Saban, not his play as a RB so when an RB comes in and can play ST, Minor (i believe) will be out the door and I seriously think KJ is that guy. As long as KJ continues to develop as a good specail teams player.

sorry to tell you this man, but no coach keeps a player around based solely on his ST play, its a waste of a roster spot...

we seem to have done exactly that for a couple of seasons now. Its not like he actually gets a lot of carries.

Your right, he could also be put in as a RB if it came down to it but what was Minors main responsibilties last year? How often did he play anything other than Special Teams?

Minor is the 3rd string back and ST guy.

We have seen what minor can do running the ball. Is anyone impressed? I dont want to hear about the line either. Morris had an average over 4 with that line.

So my point is, who can be the better runner?

Giving someone else a chance would be cool. I keep going back to the thought that if there is an injury, we are screwed.

Please don't worry, if someone gets injuried we have super-player Marcus Vick to take his place...JK

I remember when we got him last year someone from espn said KJ had the same type of pass catching ability as charlie garner but that he was stronger and a lot more able to break tackles and the he would see KJ splitting time in a platoon at RB
