Dolphins have big plans for three of last year’s rookies

Gates is probably better suited for track and field, time will tell i guess.

Or did you guys forget the number of times gates flew by DB's only to have the ball overthrown, undertthrown, and just missed completely...our alpha had to have all of the passes, remember... I actually think this was one of those addition by subtraction...

I dont expect anything out of either Thomas or Gates/ They were both horrible last year. Clay on the other hand could be something special!

That makes no sense. Clay made some incredible catches last year, but not nearly as many great runs as Thomas made. Clay had what, like maybe 3 really great catches? Thomas had 3 games in a row of breaking tackles and gaining 100+.......Yeah he spent a lot of time on the sidelines, but so did a lot of players given last years short off season. He was far from horrible.

I am excited to see what Clay is going to do in this offense. I think that he can become a big weapon.

DT and Gates have done nothing..and from what I have seen, that will continue.
Clay has already exceeded expectations and his role should be expanded.

With a full offseason under their belts (including conditioning, so hopefully no niggling hammy injuries) we will really see what these guys have to offer. I have to agree with the consensus here and say that Clay seems to have the most upside and that Gates showed very little in what time he had last year (needs to work on route running if we are going to run a WCO). I think most of us realise that Thomas is not going to be an elite back, but he should at the least give us a few good years and is a nice compliment to Bush.

I for one am excited to see how these three look in the new offense :)

I love Dan Thomas. I think he is a stud runner. He just needs to stay healthy.

I am not sure how you can say the guy was horrible unless you just don't know anything about football. He ran hard, and was killing it until he got hurt.

Tough crowd, considering DT did rush for over 100 in both of his first games.

would have been nice if the Browns took Donovan McNabb over Tim Couch in the 1999 draft, whats your point?

As Don Meridith used to say: "If ifs and buts were candy and nuts, we'd all have a Merry Christmas."

exactly, but no matter what everyone likes to play monday morning GM

I think GM did a good job drafting Clay and Gates who should do well this year in the WCO with a full camp.

Thomas will still have to prove he is not an injury prone player. He has shown some good skill when healthy.
