Dolphins Have Internally Discussed A Cam Wake Extension

Although nothing appears to be imminent, the Miami Dolphins have discussed a contract extension for defensive end Cameron Wake, that would keep the prolific pass rusher in Miami through the 2019 season.
According to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, the Miami Dolphins have internally discussed a possible Cam Wake extension.

He is my favorite player. Do you think he gets something similar to what Peppers has received from the Panthers in his last 2 one year contracts? I believe Peppers signed another 1 year 5 million contract. He is also a situational pass rusher.

he is the most underrated pass rusher in the NFL this past decade. glad we are working to make him a lifelong Miami Dolphin.

He goes in the ring of honor no questions asked. Absolutely love the guy. What he did coming back from that Achilles injury was insane. The guy has the mental makeup and physical gifts you wish you had in all 53 men on the roster.

Not sure how I feel about an extension but I am glad we have not just cast him aside because of age. Our number two sack producer of all time.
I hope the dolphins find a way to keep him here for his career but do not want to hurt us financially doing it.
ring of honor would be a nice honor and in our recent history he has always gave his all

He's a warrior and deserves a nice extension and a spot in the Ring Of Honor. Let him retire a Dolphin and stay on with the team in some capacity like Nat Moore. The guy has stayed in phenomenal shape, his production is still high and he has always been a great role model.
