More Rah Rah stuff from Philbin...

Hopefully he has spent time on becoming a better coach.

Agreed. This is more for the fans than anything.

If playing the smug Pats game 1 and wanting to smash their faces in and show the whole world that they have underestimated you after all of the 'Dolphins are a bottom half of the league crap team' talk this off season doesn't jack you up and get your blood pumping, this won't either.

Gonna have to be a wet blanket. This seems like team unity window dressing stuff to me. On top of that it isn't very good. My kids swim club does a better job than this.

“To me it’s like pretty much the whole team playing as one, just being smart and tough at the same time,” defensive end Olivier Vernon said. “It kind of reminds me of the Spartans in the ‘300’ movie, how all those guys were together facing off against the Persians. It signifies pretty much that: one as a unit.”

To go along with the shield, the players also now have T-shirts that read, “ONE TEAM, ONE FIGHT, WIN THE DAY,” at the top and bottom along with the words “smart,” “sound” and “tough” inscribed in a circle in between.

Head Coach Joe Philbin explained after practice Thursday how the shield and T-shirts came to be.

“The players took time on Sunday as a football team to kind of celebrate the 53 guys that made the roster and their position coaches gave them their T-shirts,” Philbin said. “The players kind of came up with that. As in a lot of things in life, there’s certain rituals and symbols. We wanted to kind of make it a special occasion for them, and the shield is kind of the symbol of everybody together, one team.”

Two things I noticed, the Patriots are the Persians, and coach Joe says we need to do rituals to win games, lol!

About as stupid as Jack Del Rio chopping wood in the Jaguars locker room. That's the level of motivational tool I'd expect from Philbin though.

Fine and everything, but it doesn't add up to a bowl of spit. Did anybody see this two days ago?

That's the New Zealand national basketball team, getting ready to play Team USA. I'm sure they talked for a long time about doing the haka. Planned it. Practiced it. Felt a whole lot of team unity about it.

We won by 27.

To me it's no different than a bunch of college players slapping an "inspirational" slogan on the locker room wall on the way out of the locker room on game day. Why the hell do so many people get so bent out of shape? Like the way Ray Lewis did that stupid dance crap before every game....if the team feels it "unites" them, why the hell should we care?

They should also get some letterman jackets made up for themselves.........

Haha. I remember that. Didn't the kicker chop his foot or something? I remember someone getting hurt with the axe. Lol. Dumb ass Del Rio
