That is where Jones being suspended kills us, but against the Pats it's more of a "what's going to weather the storm the most" situation. The question becomes who is least likely to hurt us, Phillip Wheeler with a cast (or even without one) or Michael Thomas?
 
Says a lot about the guy that the Pats game plan was so focused on exposing Wheeler's inability to tackle, cover, get to the QB, etc. Plus, I'm pretty sure O-lines are coached to let him get a free run at the QB on 3rd and forever downs as he is almost guaranteed to deliver a late hit or hands to the face.

I hate this guy as a player - more so than any other player that suited up for us in recent memory. Right up there w Jamar Fletcher - another mental midget.
 
Our only hope to keep them from scoring is a special day pass rushing IMO. We could do it too. brady stinks when she's getting roughed up. But there's no way this team can stop their short passing game. We just don't have the LB's. Hopefully we have some very interesting blitz packages and we call a great game...and the refs don't give the pats too much special consideration.
 
Its hilarious and kind of depressing that they have the wherewithal to go uptempo to keep Wheeler on the field...

I'd love to see a cutup of just wheeler during that game with some Benny Hill music in the background.
 
Whoever replaces him has a chance to take his position and never look back. I hope someone makes the most of it...

go wide on the front and put him on the line and just have him blitz. like the speed package we are going to use, just have OV, Shelby, Wake, Wheeler all blitzing.
 
If Wheeler is going to be hindered I would probably go with McCain. Unfortunately he would be wearing a target as well and Brady would most likely abuse him in coverage. However, he adds something in the run game and pass rush department as well.

Even if Wheeler does play we need to try and limit what he's doing in coverage as much as possible. Hope these safeties come ready to play…we need Delmas and Wilson play well..which is asking a lot
 
Im fine with Jenkins getting snaps. In coverage he is pretty solid (way better than wheeler) and really thats what we will need week 1
