The Dolphins are reportedly high on second-year TE Joey Haynos.
Haynos, a raw 6'8/270-pounder, was seen as an offensive tackle prospect by some coming out of Maryland in 2008. Haynos caught a touchdown pass as a rookie, but will probably never be more than a situational No. 2 tight end.

I was really excited when the Dolphins picked up Haynos. The kid has excellent size and athleticism to play TE, but I think Joey has to bulk up. "He seemed very slim during the season and I think he might of struggled with blocking, but I could see why the Dolphins are high on the kid. He has had all offseason to bulk up and has one year under his belt and did show some flashes last year. If Brown throws a good pass in the Jets game, Haynos would have had two TDs this past season

I still think Miami picks up a TE in the draft. They have showed interest in guys like Jared Cook, Richard Quinn, Dan Gronkowski ( Haynos' Teammate) , James Casey ( WildCat Specialist), Cornelius Ingram, Chris Zellner and Jon Nalbone. Fasano and Martin are both Free Agents next year and while I think Miami signs Fasano long term they could also draft a TE to replace him next year.

Im not saying Haynos days are numbered, but come TC Miami will have plenty of competation at TE.

I have a sneaking suspicion that BP and co. are interested in a TE in the draft... Just a thought... This would be a perfect smokescreen with a week to go... Maybe I am paranoid... I actually like Haynos as well...

They say they are high on Haynos? That means there is no way we are picking him up.

The first thing I thought; Well, he's a goner.

Wrong. We already picked him up...... about a year ago. Nice try though I think the same thing about every other guy you hear about in the draft every day.

i think a lot are so high on grabbing a Wide out but many forget how good a great TE could mean for a team. So i wouldnt be surprised at all if we snag a TE in first or second round. Could be great for us essepically if we arnt high on a lot of the receivers in first and second round/they are gonna be gone already. So i say if our top CB and LB are gone in first round it may go to TE. Hell it may go to TE even if our LB is still there. I think CB is number for them tho regardless.

If we draft a TE we will have to cut Haynos, Martin, or Fasano...which means it would probably be a high pick or someone that is NF ready and could start immediately. I don't see us taking a TE late, because chances are he will just get cut since we are deep at TE.

We're set at TE with Fasano and Haynos I believe. I hope we can manage to trade Martin and get some value for him
