The #Dolphins hosted Marshall OT Garrett Scott for a pre-draft visit Monday, according to a source. Scott was a 3-yr starter.

Thanks Daytona, I don't know much about this guy. Any opinions or probable draft position?

hmm, havent heard the name. will have to look more into him

Garrett Scott OT 37 Marshall Sr 6-5 307 ––

Scott is projected a UDFA. I'm assuming Fins are just doing HW on kids they would like to bring in after the draft for camp and possibly P.S. players for long term development.

Ranked 37th OT in draft and 434th Overall Prospect.

Can't blame them for bringing anyone and everyone in. If they feel like they for the system, why not? Even if he does go undrafted. I'm happy we're getting this extensive with our looks. Our tackles sucked something fierce.

Can't go too crazy with practice squad player visits.

If I'm not mistaken NFL rules only allow 30 Out-of-State player pre draft visits per team.

Many retired GM's and coaches have noted that player visits range from everything including top targets, late round targets, PS targets, and jokers wild.

GM's and coaches have brought in players for visits to make other teams think they may be targeting them.

Example, Pats bringing in Johnny Football and Teddy.

Many assume Johnny and Teddy might slip into late first early second round. Pats jock for position so a early second round team that might pass over a QB will then trade up. (Houston, Raiders, Jags, Browns, etc....)

I seem to recall that last year we had many players invited for private visits but we ended up only drafting one of them (Don Jones). My learning from last year was that one shouldn't read too much into the private visits. Also interesting that while we invite a lot of expected later draft picks, New England likes to invite some of the very high profile guys, eg this year Johnny Manziel and Teddy Bridgewater.
