Is anyone allowed to cover the workout today of all of the locals around Miami? Omar posted this story about them coming today, but I wasn't sure if the Dolphins actually allowed any reporters in to view the workouts. There are quite a few 3rd day projects or post-draft free agents in this group so I hope we are able to really work these guys out and scoop some of them up after the draft if not during.

I have been clamoring for Watkins, or Evans for a while now, but I wouldn't mind us drafting Kelvin Benjamin from FSU either, but I did not see his name mentioned as attending.

Benjamin is not worth a 1st rounder at all.

trading up to the top 5 eh? thats going to cost a bit

I would love to have Freeman because he really can do it all. He runs really hard and hits the hole quick. His attitude appears to be exceptional as well. We would likely have to take him in the third but he could contribute right away. Ideally, we can trade down in the first, pick up a third to use for Freeman, and still get some quality with our first pick. I would love for him to learn behind Moreno for a year.

Benjamin just canceled a bunch of workouts because he was "tired".

Talk about the worst possible time to make your commitment and work ethic come into question.

When did it go from one to a bunch? Last I saw his agent was denying it as well. Now with that being said he did admit prior to the 2013 season he took a lazy approach to the game, but this year he dedicated himself. We don't know what really happened but I was listening to Jimm Miller (I think) and he made the comment about maybe he was instructed by his agent to blow off the coach. It might have been a team that they didn't think he would be available for and didn't want to take the chance of getting hurt like Brandon Thomas did working out for the Saints.

If he just blew it off then shame on him and if his stock falls he has no one to blame but himself, but truth is we really don't know what happened

Never mind the runs that are there and there are a boat load of them. Focus on the ones that aren't.

Love what I see. Stays behind his blockers every time. 2 hands on the ball at the point of contact. Finds the crease in tight spaces. Low to the ground center gravity.

Can he be successful with much less space much more often? Is he strong enough to break NFL tackles?

If I had to bet money, it won't translate to the big leagues. But I'll take any CFL running back over Daniel Thomas at this point.

Poor Thomas. There were some runs last year in which he took the ball like a bullet coming out of a gun. Unfortunately- no success. But trust me, it was definitely not from lack of effort/grit.

Freeman is good and in the 3/4 round would be nice pick up but that kid FSU landed this year from Central high Cook may end up being a 1st rounder. Dynomite in a box. Miami settled for his running mate Yearby who is also very good.
I went to Central HS back in the day so i still follow all their players.

back to the Dolphins

The holes he had to run through were mammoth size. Nonetheless, he has very good vision.

Freeman is a tough runner that hits the holes quick, but I don't see how an "all-purpose" back should be targeted by the Fins in the middle rounds. They just signed Moreno, and if you're looking for a bruising runner there are a few who can be had late or as an UDFA this year.

Freeman is also very good at picking up blitzes. I have said it many times and will continue to say it. He reminds me of Curtis Martin. He's not real flashy but a workhorse that does everything well and nothing great. By the end of the day you look at his numbers and say he had a good day and I never really noticed it. Freeman is a hard worker and is always moving forward and rarely goes down on first contact. Someone is going to be very happy they drafted him.

Hence, "Never mind the runs that are there and there are a boat load of them. Focus on the ones that aren't."

In retrospect, i shouldve specified "holes that are there".

I forgot to add in my original post that he will Ronnie Brown any break for daylight- get caught from behind.

Ive only seen this highlight reel but its evident he has great instincts. Now, can he consistently be good when holes are for mopeds instead of monster trucks?
