Just back from the game here in the UK so thought I would share my game weekend experience us brits don't get this opportunity very often to see our team so we had to make the most of it.

Well I had an awesome weekend arrived in London Friday morning at 11.15 and straight into nike town to spend £150 easily then I thought I better do something nice for my good wife who had to endure a whole weekend of nfl while eating a nice meal in a soho pub I surprised here with 2 tickets to see wicked at the Victoria appollo theatre so that put me in her good books for the rest of the weekend☺the show was good although not really my cup of tea my wife thought it was great.

On Saturday we hit Oxford Street early for a little bit of shopping then onto regents street at midday for the nfl fan rally which we both really enjoyed especially the stage and getting to see some of the fins on stage was good Jared odrick is really cool. Of course the highlight was seeing Dan Marino !!!, I even managed to catch one of the balls that was thrown into the crowd from raiders number 1 draft pick kalill mack . Purchased my program a new era cap and a go fins t shirts at the nfl shop.

By Sunday my wife was really into the nfl game and had stolen my dolphins t shirt and cap to wear to the game, as it was a beautiful morning we decided to do a little site seeing first thing so at 9am we set off for Buckingham palace arrived to see the guards changing then strolled up the mall it was gorgeous weather to trafalgar Sq on the tube to Wembley and sat next to 3 dolphins fans from Las Vegas , got to Wembley early around 11.30-12.00 it was not over busy and went straight to nfl shop to purchase myself a fins cap with little to no queuing .bought a couple of pints of bud at £4.50 each which I thought was reasonable for wembley ? We then went and had a go on the events and decided to have a go at the nfl ball accuracy thing where you had to throw 3 balls through the hole in the wall my wife got 1 out of 3 I easily got 3 out of 3 they all went straight in the hole without touching the sides I even surprised myself ! Then the girl running the thing said if I got 2 more in I would win a prize ball 4 straight in ball 5 I felt the pressure and clipped the edge and it bounced out I was pissed lol apparently after reading others online they won prizes for getting 3 out of 3 !!! Apparently the prize was an actual used ticket from superbowl 37 that would of been pretty cool .I'm not bitter much lol after looking around for a while and a couple more beers we spotted 3 of the fins ring of fame players Sam madison etc walking down to the area I asked if they could sign my fins flag but they declined ?????We then qued up and had our photograph taken with the superbowl trophies which was pretty cool. Got some food and sat down for an hour before we saw the dolphins coaches and players arrive at the stadium. we entered the stadium at 3 pm as we had club wembley tickets went inside very posh in there but we weren't allowed to our seat until 4 so had to stay in the bar for an hour so had a horrible pint of calsberg then found the budwieser bar so had a few of them for rest of the game.when we got to our seats we got chatting to fans around no americans unfortunately but mainly raiders fans a few neutrals and even a pats fan with a gronk jersey cheering on the fins fair play to him there was one dolphins fan sat in front who we high fived with for most of the game. My wife was sat next to an English couple about 65 years old who didn't cheer shout react clap or boo and stayed motionless the entire game near the end of the game I asked them if this was there 1st nfl game and I was shocked to find out they had been to every nfl wembley game including the old American bowls lol . Directly in the seat in front of me was a jets fan wearing a Tim telbow jersey so he got plenty of stick from me and others around us but he took it in good faith I think he was used to it lol.he said him and his mate went to the super bowl last year cost them £6000 each.

We all know how the game went so won't go into that lol but as this was my 2nd nfl game 1st being in miami in 2007 I really enjoyed wembley what was impressive was getting back on the tube at Wembley park there were tens of thousands of people all walking to the tube station and we didn't even have to queue and walked straight onto a train and not even crammed in like sardines so well done to London underground for that.

got back to our hilton hotel and watched the later games on my mobile on nfl game pass.

Monday we had to catch our coach from hammersmith at 3 pm so set off for last minute sight seeing and had to buy our 11 year old daughter a present so we decided to go to tower hill and see the 888,000 red porcelain poppies at the tower of London each one to mark one british death in world war 1 if anybody hasn't been a truely unbelievable sight very moving. Back to regents st/Oxford St area and to my wife's favourite shop the cath kidston flagship store and got our daughter her own handbag gift wrapped for a surprise.

I've never been a fan of London before always seemed a dirty scruffy type of city to me being a country lad but I don't know if the city got cleaned up for the Olympics or what but I was surprised how clean and tidy the city was so I will definitely be back again !

Sorry for harping on but as you can probably tell I really enjoyed the weekend topped off with a dolphins win I dread to think what it cost me overall with tickets hotels food beer merchandise shopping over a grand I reckon? next time I think I will pop on a flight to miami for the weekend on my own probably work out cheaper ?

Sorry to hear that they wouldn't sign your flag. And here I thought we were trying to appeal to our international fans? :idk:

That sounds outstanding, glad you had a great time. I'm also sorry they didn't sign your flag, that's a bummer.

over a grand is not bad. Glad you enjoyed. thanks for sharing.

I was stationed in England as my second base in the early 90's...I had just turned 20 and loved it. Being there makes you appreciate how young of a country we actually are. The thing I thought was cool was there were Dan Marino jerseys for sale every where! It was weird, there would be no other football jerseys or sports stuff of any kind besides soccer (European Football) and there would be a Dan Marino jersey! Loved the beer! It was kind of dreary though and people wore a lot of blues and greys....we stuck out like sore thumbs with our Hypercolor shirts on (showing my age hehe). The people were great, especially as you got away from base. We would go pub jumping and they would treat you as a stranger walking in like they had known you for years! Fond memories!

Great write up and sounds like you had a good time. My only concern is that you drank Bud...Dude your in England, why Bud... they have great beer there!

I had a beer there called Castlemaine 4x and it made Guinness seem like water. I think it was Australian, but that stuff was thick and goooooooood!

They also had a drink called a Snakebite (not a shot like it is here) it was Cider and lager with a little black current....AWESOME!

I was in London a couple years ago and also saw Wicked at the Aplllo Victoria. OK I guess. You must have been humoring Americans to drink Budweiser when there had to be something better. I really like Newcastle and Boddingtons, but my favorite ended up being a newer beer called Hobgoblin. First tasted it on the Isle of Wight. Congratulations on seeing a Dolphins game. I've only been to one myself and I live in the US. Glad you had a good time and the Fins won!

Sounds like a good time! We travel a lot, but I've never been to England (wife has). Would love to see my Dolphins in London or even in Miami for that matter! I've seen them play four times, but all on the West Coast. One of these years.....

I dont think 4x is on sale here any more - besides it was only called XXXX as the aussies could not spell beer ;)

Glad you had a good time :)

Also beer sucks, drink a decent beverage - like whiskey

Most decent lagers come from the continent to be honest England has a wide selection of real ales but for lager you want european selections.. many have now been downgraded to under 5% to cut back on binge drinking and to regulate health matters better..
