Do we really practice inside all the time or just sometimes? I mean that is competely given away our major advantage with the weather. For years we have watched teams melt in the Miami sun while our guys are fine, now I feel we are losing that edge. Someone please tell me I'm wrong.

I dont like that we dont have that edge anymore.I like the bubble but only if it gets really bad.I think that all dome stadiums should be banned and that everyone should play in the elements. If WH puts a roof here in Miami i would be one pissed off fan.

yea i kinda wished they only used that if there was bad weather like a thunderstorm or hurricane but always practice outside

The Miami Dolphins need to go far far away for training camp, they need to get away from south florida during camp, its imperative

I never saw the weather as an advantage for the fins. Back when they were actually a decent team, they'd look good in September when the sun was blazing and their opponents were basically dying from the heat. But then what happens? Come December, our players are all worn out from the outside practices and the team flounders. I'm not saying exhaustion was the only reason for them sucking in December, but I think it was part of it.

Hey folks. The bubble was put there because of another factor in South Florida -lightning. Wind, rain, sleet, and hail can be dealt with one way or the other. Lightning always has the right of way, and you don't play outside when that is happening. South Fla. has a lot of it, like almost every afternoon in the summer.

If we leave it empty too long, vagrants like Bud and Doyle might move in.
Viva los Biodome!!!!!

The purpose of the dome was to allow practice to continue in safety. We had a cameraman get struck by lightening during practice when the thunderstorm was just threatening... this is an issue almost every single afternoon practice throughout camp. Saban was looking to recover that practice time otherwise lost as the Dolphins have taken the lightning danger issue serious.

Bubble is totally necessary due to the weather and to prevent lost practice time. As far as the advantage of weather, someone should try to figure out the right mix of indoor and outdoor practice at the beginnig of the season so that the team not only maintains the early season heat advantage and doesn't wear out at the end of the season. Not to go off on a different direction but I'm tired of us not wearing our home, dark jerseys because they don't reflect the sunlight/heat like our white ones do. Our home jersey's are not black and they don't absorb that much heat as evidenced by every team that's smacked us around the last few years in their dark jerseys. Wasn't green bay who came in this year and had "hook ups" that pumped cool air into their jerseys when they were on the sidelines. They didn't look overheated in their dark green jerseys.

I'm next to the practice facility every day and can even see onto the field from my building... They only practice inside when the weather is inclement it seems like, and even then they still sometimes practice outside. Most of the stuff is outside though, save bad weather or trying to hide from the press or whatnot.

i would love for us to go through camps somewheres up north..let our guys get a little more adapted to cold/wet weather. i was impressed by mike mcarthy's comments on how he was freezing the football and what not to get the players a little extra experience with that issue.

If the Miami Hurricanes can wear their dark jerseys for home games then the Dolphins can wear their aqua jerseys for home games too!!!

And where do you propose we have training camp at.. the north pole? It's hot and humid here in July and August as it is pretty much everywhere in the United States during those months. So we aren't going to be able to have training camp in a "cold" climate because it's not cold anywhere in the U.S. in those months.
