I would pay Byrd the 9 million and rid myself of Jones next year if he doesn't start ballin.
If hickey signs jarius Byrd then I believe real change will begin. In my opinion Byrd is one of the best safeties in the nfl. I'm going to assume this rumor is not true because miami has not signed an impact player like this since Keith Jackson, Irving friar etc. Byrd is a heck of a football player.

wow imagine Byrd, Jones, Grimes...and whoever else steps up at the other cb spot we will have the #1 passing defense for sure all we need is to draft a DT and sign more free agent offensive lineman's+ playoffs

Jones is top 5 saftey in league and, playmaker whos not afraid to tackle and i think we signed him to a 5 year deal last offseason no way he goes, if anything we might sign louis delmas to team up with jones just because he will be half the price of byrd

I have always felt that Byrd would be a target of the Dolphins once Dennis Hickey was hired. Remember, the Bucs went hard after Goldston from SF last year when he became a free agent and signed him. And then he and the Bucs drafted Mark Barron out of Alabama. He obviously values the Safety position very much.
