Dolphins interested in Byrd

He wants 10 mill annually... ffs

Again. One of the best safeties in the game, a game changer but you don't want to pay what he is worth..why skimp when we don't have too. If the jets pick him up you will blow up deluxe. Sign him. Sign Monroe or Albert, sign Gerhardt.

And Byrd didnt even play the first 1/4 of the season I believe. The cap goes up 10-20 mil over the next few years.

Why should I care if the owner wants to spend his billions?

Byrd was my top choice last year and if it wasn't for the line being so bad would have been this year. However, for the past few years the Dolphins have been used as patsies for free agents and coaches to drive prices up for other teams. Maybe this year Miami is using that by saying the are interested in Byrd to drive the price down on Delmas. If it is true and they really do want Byrd, then I am all for it and I would be all for extending Patterson and turning his salary into a bonus over a 2-3 year deal. A starting defensive backfield of Grimes, Patterson, Byrd amd Jones would be a sick turnover machine.

I believe the reported Dolphin interest in Byrd is leverage to push Delmas into the deal they are offering

#Dolphins Writer @OmarKelly says #Dolphins could be the team setting the market for Jairus Byrd.

I am still not sure what the interest is in Delmas. Scratching my head on this one.

Byrd is a ball hawk, would love to have this guy on the team, even at big money.

Smoke screen...running the price up for the Jets.

Or maybe we are using Albert to drive down Monroe's price so we can sign Byrd and Monroe...

Why are you trying to get rid of Jones? that makes zero sense.

Because Reshad Jones is not a good football player. That being said, we will never be able to trade him with his current contract.

Signing Byrd for that kind of money would be a huge waste of our capital. I personally don't even want him for cheap, but $9 million is ridiculous.
