Dolphins interested in Byrd

i imagine $9 mil per would make him highest paid safety in football money...for a guy that we will have to try and hide in our scheme at times...crazy

no wonder buffalo is balking

I am still not sure what the interest is in Delmas. Scratching my head on this one.

Based off of the Bengal secondaries that Coyle had, he likes safeties that can do multiple things. While Delmas staying healthy is a concern, he can play the run, and drop into coverage. He's also much more athletic than Clemmons is.

If we sign a big money safety, it tells me that Reshad Jones' time here is limited.

Unlike Ireland, Philbin is smart enough to know he doesn't have the luxury of a 5 year plan, if we sign Byrd we're putting all our eggs in this seasons basket and we'll deal with the potential salary cap ramifications down the road. As it should be.

With the potential rise in cap space the next couple of years...signing Byrd would not be detrimental....with that said, I don't think he's worth the money.

That would be a bad basket of eggs because having a duo of safeties wouldn't mean anything if our OL can't protect RT

im coming around to the idea of this

If this happens we can afford to have Wheeler as our starting OLB lol

But seriously, this would make our secondary the best in the business

remember from the Super Bowl, good defense beats good offense. McQuistan was on the super bowl winning offensive line lol (he used to play for us). Honestly, we just need to get better than average guys on the OL, and spend on BIG NAMES for DEFENSE. Id rather sign Anthony Collins and Jon Asamoah for OL, and then spend on guys like Byrd on defense, keep Soliai over Starks, and sign a good LB.

He has plantar fasciitis in both feet, its a risky move.

Pump the brakes on the Jairus Byrd-to-Miami talk, people. I'm hearing that's a smokescreen.
