Dolphins Interested in Joe Flacco (Article)

His delivery would have been a major problem had he not been 6"6'.

In fact Beck had a low delivery too, from the limited action he played, though he is a much shorter player.

If we do draft Flacco, maybe the Qb coach can work on the same problem with two guys.

i've been watching film on flacco and totally agree.... he has a low release. he also needs work on his dropback and intermediate game seems to throw behind often (not sure if its timing or footwork exactly)... all in all though if he can slide around the pocket to avoid pressure he can be a very good QB with good coaching and a good work ethic

would be happy if they were...good size for the nfl

I saw him today on TV in an college player skills competition.....they also had Matt Ryan, Colt Brennan, Chad Henne, John David Booty, and a few other QB's there. The immediate things you notice about Flacco is his size....he towers over most of the other QB's around him. I thought his footwork in the drills was ok, and he has an above average arm strength wise....he might be worth a look in the 3rd round, but I still think he needs a good deal of work.

don't look too much into this... maybe just a smokescreen in order to trade down our 3rd round pick ( may i remember you that it is the first pick of the second day) ... hyping up a player is a good way to do so, in order to scare teams from the possibilities of drafting the guy... don't you find it odd that we are surprinsingly interested in Matt Ryan, a possible 1st overrall talent, and Joe Flacco, low 2nd, early 3rd rounder and we aren't even looking into the 5-6 other prospects that fit in the middle of this range ???

throwing a ball 74 yards while its not a spiral isnt an above avg arm, thats a darn strong arm. give that a sprial and it was an easy 80 yarder at least.

He will be a good QB i believe. and he had the fastest run among all the rest as well which is good.

So we are making it known publicly that we are interested in a guy 80 days before the draft. Right then, so now that is out of the way I guess we know what the scouting dept. is doing from now on until the draft - playing golf.

Sorry, but ofcourse we're interested in him "publicly", we should be interested in just about anybody (figuratively) considering the amount of holes we have. And, there is a huge difference between being impressed with someone, and drafting them.

If we pass on Ryan and he lasted until 32 I would be thrilled to get him. Of course the fact that we are now publicly interested makes it a ceretainty that he'll be drafted in the 1st by someone wishing to get that arm

There's only really one other QB that fits the mold - Chad Henne and he has unbelievably small hands which might explain some of his inconsistency. Brohm is a borderline Parcells type. I think the fact he gets dinged up might make Parcells pass on considering him
