Dolphins interested in WR Laurent Robinson

Here is the breakdown of his games last year vs various opponents and detailing what other WRs were playing. Might help give a better idea of what he can do on the outside. Bryant did play in every game (thought he may have missed some). So the games Austin was out Robinson was the #2.

Week 1 vs Jets - 0 catches, 0 yards (Austin active)
Week 2 - DNP
Week 3 vs Wash - 3 catches, 49 yards (Austin active)
Week 4 vs Detroit - 7 catches 116 yards (Austin Out)
Week 5 - DNP
Week 6 vs NE - 2 catches, 43 yards (Austin active)
Week 7 vs Rams - 2 Catches, 25 yards (Austin active)
Week 8 vs Eagles - 5 catches 103 yards, 1 TD (Austin Active)
Week 9 vs Seattle - 5 catches, 32 yards, TD (Austin Active)
Week 10 vs Buffalo - 3 catches, 73 yards, 2 TDs (Austin OUT)
Week 11 vs Wash - 4 catches 34 yards, TD (Austin out)
Week 12 vs Miami - 7 catches, 79 yards, 2 TD (Austin Out)
Week 13 vs Arizona - 4 catches, 72 yards (Austin out)
Week 14 vs Giants - 4 catches, 137 yards, TD (Austin active)
Week 15 vs Bucs - 3 catches, 29 yards, TD (Austin Active)
Week 16 vs Eagles - 1 catch, 5 yards (Austin active)
Week 17 vs Giants - 4 catches, 61 yards, 2 TDs (Austin active)

So, as the #3 WR in 10 games he totaled 27 catches, 484 yards and 6 Tds.

As the #2 outside WR (which he would project at here) in 5 games he totaled 25 catches, 374 yards and 5 TDs.

So you tell me....better on the outside, or better as the #3 in the slot?
Just because he was the 3rd best receiver in the game does not mean he was lined up in the slot. Brandon Marshall lined up in the slot at times too...

I know. Im simply addressing the people on here who are saying the only reason he put up numbers was because he played the slot every game and was matched up against weak corners. If AUstin played the slot it even advances my point that this guy is very capable on the outside.

Yeah Garrett said Robinson was their best route runner. Romo seemed to only trust him in the red zone too.

Awesome write up man.

Dude can play both. Me likes.

My apologies...from the post it sounded as if you were saying the opposite. My bad.

and brandon marshall is in trouble again per adam shefter.

We definitely need a red zone threat right? Marshall was supposed to be that but failed. Maybe because of the QB....but no doubt we had major problems in the red zone.

No problem, sorry if I was misleading. Really just trying to put the numbers out there to let people come to their own conclusions. Personally Id like the addition, but do have slight concerns about him being a #1 go-to guy. If we surround him with other good WRs (kind of like Green Bay has done) it would be an effective signing.

I agree with that completely. He is a solid player...but not at #1 money. He would be a nice pick-up though

And he's noway better than Marshall... but in 2 seasons with Miami Marshall had 9 TD's. Robinson had 11 just last year.

Could be a very good underrated pickup to help jump start our offense. Still think we add another WR in the draft regardless.

Wow Robinson is not the guy you chase right after you traded your number one lol oh well

I am damn happy that Marshall is gone. He does not fit "character players" that the Dolphins are looking for. He is all about himself. When he threw Matt Moore under the bus that was the final straw with that idiot. Brandon dropped what? 6 touchdowns that he should've had, not to mention numerous other very catchable passes from Moore.

I have never believed that character crap because the same gm that got rid of him signed him. Its just something teams say
