The Miami Herald reports there are few middle linebacers on the free agent market. New Orleans LB Mark Simoneau (6-0, 238), who is 31 years old, helped the Saints improve enough for the team to make the 2006 NFC title game. Beyond him, the starting material looks rather thin. Simoneau's agent William Vann McElroy said he had a meeting scheduled with Dolphins GM Jeff Ireland at next week's NFL Scouting Combine, but he doesn't know which specific players will be discussed.

Don't worry about it. This is utter conjecture. It's rumour based on a lazy journalist putting 2 + 2 together and coming up with 9, failing to see that McElroy has 40 clients and is the agent for Chris Long.

Mark Simoneau is GOD AWFUL. Unless this move is to keep him on the special teams unit, a unit that was very poor last year, i have no desire what so ever to see him brought in. Unless of course the Dolphins defense would enjoy DeShaun Foster burying Simoneau on his way to the endzone.

i'd also like to add that just because we are talking to chris long's agent at the combine doesn't meen we are poised to draft him #1. miami brass has also talked to glenn dorsey's agent plus a few other guys i imagine to get a feel of contracts.
