Dolphins interview Gaine, Khan, Licht for GM today

no it's Ross and Carl Peterson.

Also I don't really think each candidate getting 3 hours is a bad thing.

And for those complaining about the possibility of promoting Brian Gaine. You can do a lot worse than promoting him.

Aponte is standing behind the mirrored window in the interrogation...errr Interview room...LOL

Hey, If Aponte, Philbin, and Gaine can work together and put a winning product on the field so be it, but it just scares the crap out of me. I am not a Philbin fan and not a fan of the politics going on down there. I wish Ross would have just done a clean sweep, but it's not my toy...err business to play with either. I just keep getting sucked in as I am obviously a glutton for punishment...

Seems like they have a handful guys that deserve a shot to run a team.

i dont get it.

they say GAINES has been "instrumental" in the aquisition of talent with the team for 6 years. ISNT THAT WE HAVE BEEN UNHAPPY ABOUT? he is the last of the parcell posse who was instrumental in being part of the the WORST drafting team over the last 6 years and loads of f/a busts and he DESERVES A SHOT? AT WHAT? BEST JEFF IRELAND IMPERSONATION?

he failed big in the talent department. we have aponte the bean counter, what does he DESERVE exactly? thats what we want from our new GM, just a guy who has brown nosed ross and gets to be gm because he has been there 6 years? and again, outside of this piece today on the gm interviews, i have NEVER heard anyone, from anywhere that gaine is some wicked good talent guy. thats all advance pr to me from the finz, buttering the bread before hand.

so, if he was SOOOO instrumental in helping ireland with talent acquisition, why wasnt he let go with him? he should have been.

i am afraid all that toxic, bad structure in the office just might be fact. the three headed gang green jets management structure look like a done deal.

AND, its moving fast because the senior bowl is coming up and its vital that franchises have their talent people their. and the other 2 that were part of the "1st" wave were fluff, just something to make it look like they are really trying a deep search. gaine will be introduced no later than wednesday.

I would imagine that multiple people will eventually interview each candidate. Three hours sounds like a preliminary interview to accomplish 2 things:

1. Getting in front of these good candidates before another team does so they don't lock them up, and

2. Whittling down the list to around 3 final candidates.

At that point we will get into more depth about what we do and how the candidate envisions it working. But, if we wait too long the best ones will be snapped up. My guess is that this interview is just the first of several for our top candidates.

HOW?

WHO?

it is said he was KEY int the evaluation process here. how has that gone the last 6 years with him being such a VITAL part of the worst drafing team in the nfl?

how can we do worse wheN he has been THE WORST????

OH, i am sure carl is taking calls from ross. but......., after all was said about the gaine ross and aponte aliance, you have to believe she is hanging around.

if gaine is the guy, she is more than hanging around. looks like aponte and philbin demanding a gm who has NO control over them has ross approval. hire all buddies [see how long dawn considers them buddies] and let them play nice in the sandbox. keep off ross's door and the bickering out of the media.

i do not see dawn aponte considering herself ANYONES equal for long.

I believe we are the only team in the market for a GM.

If it is a good interview the questions are short and pointed. Broad enough to provide a canvas and direct enough to ask for a painting. At that point it is all about the painting that the candidate paints. When he doesn't answer some of the items you need to know, you ask a follow up question that is more specific.

But at the end of the day you need to get in front of these guys before they get locked up by other teams. You need to hear enough to see their big picture and how they will work with the team and front office. We may want several guys but they may have other offers and we may not get our first choice, so we need to have several candidates that we are happy with and then internally rank them and go get the best one we can.

Personally I like the sound of Gamble if he'd take it, and I'd be quite happy if he brought Lazor with him.

really MADDOG? your happy with the talent we have brought in over the last 6 years?

once i read gaine had a KEY influence on our talent evaluation and draft, THAT EXCLUDED HIM for me!! this was a strike against, not for!!

mr. ross thanks you.

your immediate supervisor gets tossed , you lose your job too

never mind you're a top rep in the company

great logic

He has a good reputation from what we know...not saying he should be handed the job nor do I think we are back to just the "yes man" if he does get hired. Let see how it all plays out.

Lovie Smith has final say on the roster which puts that job a notch below Miami. I don't consider that a real GM hire.

Yes MadDog I agree, assuming you believe what Ross has said about the Miami GM job, which I tend to- just didn't know if you forget about them or not..today's rumor is that Vital is the leading candidate for the TB job.

i don't like the idea of having three people (the new GM , Philbin and Dawn) reporting directly to Ross. I still think one person should be responsible for final say on all football matters. Ross does not need to be involved in the day to day operations. Like Elway in Denver or Parcells when he was here.
Three leaders with equal power means no leader at all.

they wouldn't be holding interviews were he just handed the job

he's going thru the process like everyone else

i'm saying working under Ireland shouldn't disqualify him
