It's no coincidence that Walden's arrival off of the Chiefs' waiver wire inlast November tightened up a porous special-teams unit and helped ignite a season-ending, five-game winning streak.
"Walden's looked good," Ireland told WQAM-560. "We're looking for core special-teams players from that group and I think you'll see a very dynamic position at outside linebacker with all those guys."
Walden was drafted out of Middle Tennessee in the sixth round by the Cowboys last season, but wound up on their practice squad before Kansas City swiped him. In nine games, Walden notched 10 special-teams tackles but was released on Nov. 19. The Dolphins, no doubt tapping their Cowboys ties, gobbled him up the next day.
