Dolphins looking at B. Smith, DE

Good, he is one of my late round sleepers. They should check into turning DE Curtis Johnson into an OLB too.

It should also be said that the same site is reporting that NINE other teams have 'interest' in this guy also. Maybe not much of a sleeper.

Brian Johnston Gardner-Webb, is another later round prospect that will draw alot of attention.

He isn't late round anymore.

He absolutely nuked his pro-day.

His numbers in the drills are more impressive than anyone else's in this draft class.

Just for example: His shuttle numbers were better than any RB at the combine and Brian is 6'5" 276lbs.

He will probably go on the first day now. Draft scout projects him 3-4.

Good catch. Miami's on a kick with these late round, small school, UDFA types.

Call me crazy CK....But if C. Long was the guy the Dolphins are sold on...why would they bring in another potential OLB? How many can they have on a roster...when you already have 12 linebackers. You can't have a team made up of just linebackers.

So you've deduced that the Dolphins are not sold on a top-tier talent in Chris Long because they are scouting a late-round to UDFA guy at the same position? Really?

Well I'm not sold on C. Long to begin with....if that answer's your question and especially not with the top pick.

OK, well I can run with that, but I don't think scouting Smith really connects to whether or not the Dolphins like Long.

Well when you already have 12 linebackers on the roster..it sure doen't help the O-line to add a couple more. Maybe they are going to use J. Allen on the O-line?

Josh Buchanan, of NFLDraftBible.com, reports that McNeese State DE Bryan Smith is receiving interest from the Miami Dolphins

I should add....he's being looked at, as a OLB.

that would be great if we picked him up. i live about 15 minutes from mcneese(have been working on the crew building their new baseball bleachers). the guy was a beast for mcneese at the de position and should be able to make a good olb aswell.

he was invited to the combine but i did not catch any of his workouts. the only knock is the very small school and weak competition he faced.

this would make what the third player from msu. cecil, another running back he had about two yrs ago that wasn't given fair chance but when in the game he produced and now smith if he is picked up.

The problem is that most of our team sucks right now.:boohoo:O-Line, D-Line, Linebackers (outside of Jason Taylor who may get traded). We just need to get the best players available in any of those positions, IMO. So bringing in more LB's like this guy isn't a bad idea if Bill & Co. feels that he has more upside than some late-round type lineman, IMO.

I have to disagree....we have numerous needs...when you have Taylor, Porter, Crowder and Torbor...you have a starting group. Add the other players that the already had...plus the few that they signed since they took over, Linebacker is not an immediate need. You always look to improve from the players you have...but you can't build a team out of one position...and again...we do have many other needs.

I'm interested in seeing what Quentin Moses and Abe Wright can do this year.
