In the recent July 12th Training Camp break down of all 32 NFL teams, The Sporting News Stated that the Dolphins will
Make a run at Saints RB Michael Bennett late in camp. The team has already talked to the Saint, and it will become obvious as camp goes on that the Dolphins need someone better than Sammy Morris to back up Ronnie Brown.

They also eluded to the fact that the CB competition will be intense between Will Allen, Travis Daniels, Will Poole Andre Goodman and Shirdonya Mitchell.
Touting Will Allen and Daniels as the frontrunners for the position as camp starts.

We've been flirting with Michael Bennett for a while now, and I think it's time to just get it done. Sure, he's injury prone, but obviously Ronnie Brown is going to carry the load anyway. Bennett would be a great backup.
 
I just thought it'd be nice to let people who don't get the Sporting News see what they are saying about the Dolphins in there official 32 team training camp review. Sorry if it was talked about 30 times before.
 
I have a feeling that the Saints might release him. Especially if Duece comes back healthy. if he is not ready to go I think they will keep Bennett. I don't think they will get what they want in a trade.

Its an old story which hasnt been concluded yet which makes it current.

Muellers brother works in the Saints org so you know that they are in frequent contact.

The Saints have not moved on him yet because Bush has not signed and because there is uncertainty about Deuce and the other RBs.

The problem is the asking price.They want a first day pick and thats too much IMO.

The Dolphins may be willing to part with a second day pick now that they didnt spend any in the supplemental draft.
 
I dont want Bennett but if thats who Saban brings in then i hope we dont give up more then a 4th rounder for him.Hes always hurt.

oh my god, are people really wanting to give up another draft pick in next years draft for a busted up back up running back! seriously! a 4th rounder, when they have recently come right out and said that sammy morris is fine, and behind him is travis, which is fine as well!!!! why?! we already do not have 2nd, because of daunte, and we dont have a 6th or maybe a 5th because of harrington! do you people sincerely want to give up draft picks for a position that isnt even in need?! wtf, this is ridiculous, i have been reading posts about bennett since ricky got suspended, and its getting old, i hope to god he goes somewhere else. why pay more money for a position thats fine? ronnie is getting a lot of money and its time we see him carry the bulk of the load.

I thought it was just a 2nd rounder in this years draft.We gave them our 2nd next year aswell?

I dont want Bennett nor do i want to give up a draft pick for him.I dont want to give up anymore draft picks either but if we did trade for him i think it would be with a draft pick.I dont think they would take Eddie Moore for him.
 
The latest I heard - I believe maybe on ESPN in the last 4 or 5 days - was that Houston wanted Bennett pretty badly - but the asking price was too high. (Sorry I don't have a link or anything).

If the asking price is too high for Houston, I think it's way too high for us...
 
Travis Minor is not a guy that I want to see in our offense. He looked good in a limited role behind Lamar Smith and Ricky but he hasn't even looked the slightest bit fast on the field the last two years- which was his one and only skill as an RB to begin with. I'm excited to see what some otehr guys do, and would not be heartbroken if Minor is not on the roster this year. With that said, nothing more than a 5th for Bennett would I pay.

It was only a second in this years draft. I do not know what that poster was talking about.
