IF the Dolphins add a receiver to this team during free agency I'm guessing it will be a grizzled, inexpensive veteran who has a season or two left in him. Rather than add a diva, I'm told the Trifecta is interested in signing a teacher and mentor that can help the unit's youngers grow. There's also growing speculation the Trifecta does have a fancy for some of the elite receivers in the 2009 draft.
But you know how Dan Henning likes his receivers? No female dogs. Even coach Tony Sparanois concerned about messing up the good chemistry in the receivers room.

Marvin Harrison, Torry Holt (who might get Released) and Joey Galloway ( He is to Old in my opinion) come to mind. I can´t see how we break the bank for TJ and I think years of hanging out with CJ have made him into a pre-madonna.

I want Holt, esp if released outright. He has the most left in the tank, IMO

I want Torry Holt or Marvin Harrisson and this news is like saying just that, I'm happy.

lets just sign harrison and holt and joey g, why not lol. Seriously tho any of them are better options then london wilford.

Holt would be great ... I wouldn't mind the idea of drafting a young stud & have someone like Harrison mentor him and the rest of our young'ens a year or two.

The thought of Penny mentoring Henne/Beck & Holt or Harrison mentoring Draftee/Ginn/Bess & Rillo for a while, while we continue to revamp the trenches and D is appealing to me.

I think Holt would be a tremendous addition (if waived, of course). As long as he doesn't expect to get 90 catches here..

Exactly what I was thinking even last month when the season ended. I think Harrison could be the best fit if he would take a cheap deal(around 2 mil) for 1-2 seasons. He is a great route runner still despite losing some explosiveness and would be a great example for the young guys so long as he dosent shoot them.

If we spend a draft pick on a WR I only want Nicks. Otherwise there is no need to use a pick on a WR.

Pat White would be an excellent pick as well to not only be a spot as a #5 receiver but be used as an emergency QB so as to fill 2 positions with one roster spot. That would be a big bonus.

Signing Harrison and drafting White is the way to go. And of course dump John Beck.

Why is there this idea on this board that Brandon London is a viable option in any way, shape or form?
Seriously, he has never done anything to merit this perception.

We need a real threat on the outside, not a washed up cap casualty like Harrison or Holt. I'd be all about a trade for Chad Johnson at the right price, and I'm hoping against hope that Darrius Heyward-Bey falls to us at 25. If DHB is not there though, Nicks or Britt would somewhat satisfy me. At any rate, we need a real damn receiver.

I have been saying this since the offseason ended. We dont have room for another young WR with Camarillo, Ginn and Bess already on the roster. We have already seen that we can get good production out of these three guys, but they would still benefit greatly from the presence of an older player who can teach them the finer points of playing wide receiver in the NFL.

With Galloway released, he immediately becomes my top choice. The man can still fly. But I also think Amani Toomer is a possibility.

Toomer is a good choice IMO too. I like Harrison especially his no nonsense personality. He is just a shell of his former self though.

DJ Hackett.

just realeased from Carolina. http://www.panthers.com/Common/Article.aspx?id=44384

not only is he still young, but experienced. Did not have a good year last year because of injuries, but was a major departure from Seattle the year before. Was their possession receiver. He's young, fast, good route runner, and they can get him for pretty cheap since he had low numbers last year.

Hackett is the best solution if he fills Parcell's/Sparano's/Ireland's character standards. He's:
1) a lot cheaper than Housh, Holt, Harrison, or Galloway
2) still young
3) big

and he's a definite upgrade over Wilford
