Dolphins make list of top 5 worst offseasons

Just trying to give the board an idea about how the national and local media thinks about us..95 percent of them think we are going to take a big step back this year.

Really gonna come down to health, but seems we took the cautious route and that’s why we got graded so low.

To be fair, they expected Miami to take a step backwards in 2023, so...

It all falls on 5 important things to happen, and if most are met, Miami does not take that step back, if all are met...Well, it's a very exciting season this year if you're a Dolphins fan.

1. Either Tua stays 100% healthy, or Wilson/Ewers surprise being amazing QB for Miami when he does again go down.

2. O-Line finally shows skill level to Pass-Block, Run-Block, or both at a solid to good level.

3. Front 7 at the very least comes close to being as dominant as they look on paper against the run, and bringing pressure.

4. The secondary find enough talent to make it tough on teams for at least 2 to 3 seconds before QB is able to find anyone.

5. McDaniel does not have a simular 2024 season in 2025.

The “journalists” opinions are as good as ours. This off season was the first step in the rebuild but I think we could still be a playoff contender. Tua is good for 9-11 win by himself.

4. Miami Dolphins

Mike McDaniel caught the attention of the NFL world by quickly developing Tua Tagovailoa and building an offense that sometimes can look like the most explosive unit in the league, but the dirty truth is that Miami just doesn't beat good teams. Under McDaniel, the Dolphins are 24-9 vs. non-playoff teams, and 4-14 vs. playoff teams. McDaniel is also still looking for that first postseason win.

Did the Dolphins improve this offseason? It's hard to answer in the affirmative when you lose a talent like Jevon Holland in free agency. Miami had a solid draft, and put an emphasis on shoring up the trenches with defensive tackles Kenneth Grant and Jordan Phillips plus offensive guard Jonah Savaiinaea, but are those players that will get Miami over the hump?

The vibes feel low in Miami, don't they? The Dolphins' offseason got off to a terrible start when Tyreek Hill told reporters in the locker room that he was "out" directly after the regular-season finale. Hill did more than just walk back those comments. He came to OTAs humble and focused on winning back the trust of his teammates. Hill even said he doesn't deserve to be voted a team captain. That's honorable, but I would rather have Tyreek, the outspoken confident personality that believes Tua is the best quarterback of all time, than Tyreek, the somber wide receiver who is the subject of trade rumors.

Speaking of trade rumors, star cornerback Jalen Ramsey is expected to be dealt soon. General manager Chris Grier made it clear in April that Ramsey wouldn't be on this roster in 2025, and it's a huge hit to what could be the worst secondary in the NFL this season.

Thanks for the post.

I never listened to Siskel and Ebert for advice on movies because those two were ——y. What they liked and what I liked are too far apart. Different kinds of people.

Same with so called analyst and sports commentators. That dude cannot see into the future. If he could, he’d be wealthy and retired like SW.

Instead, he’s writing fluff pieces for CBS for a salary.

Go figure.

As always it primarily wil be Tua, Tua, Tua. He is light years ahead of Milfy who sucks, and the Rookie who is wet behind the ears. Tua goes down its over. Period. I know that and I am not a Tua fan.

Yeah, wish I could say there is a chance with one of the backups for Tua, but reality tells us Tua stays healthy or highly probable season is derailed again.

Still crossing fingers🤞 hard for Ewers not to suck (At least not work against team with turnovers, and severely low completion %) if given chance, and being able to progress fast if needed for considerable time.

Yeah-we don't know what we have yet in Ewers. Though expecting a 7th round rookie to come in and learn the NFL and McD's offense, and then be successful, is asking a lot in his first year. They paid the milf hunter a huge sum of money, (no one on the planet knows why), so he will be next man up. Lord help us if Tua goes down.

I dont agree about the Holland part of the article. Dude really fell off the last two seasons. The first one I was just thinking he had a bad year, but then he got worse. However, sometimes I think it may not be entirely on him. Sometimes it appeared as if there was some communication problems in the secondary.

He developed an aversion to tackling as well. He frankly never looked the same after the turf monster got his knees up in NJ, I wish him luck playing all his home games on that shitehole surface.
