My guess is its for special teams and Vigil just never made it back from that back injury even though they activated him. Jenkins can't really play either - based on the Jackson article -his knee is still not right.

Did anyone watch that DE beast for Dallas last night, Irving? Apparently, that dude was hiding on KC practice squad when Dallas picked him up? How is that possible? A talent like that goes unnoticed. Also, watching that guy played sadden me as I saw Dion Jordan like measurements in him.

The Dolphins have signed linebacker Trevor Reilly to their active roster off of the Patriots’ practice squad.

Reilly had been on the Patriots’ practice squad since October. He was a seventh-round pick of the Jets in 2014 and played in 29 games over two seasons with the Jets. Reilly had 15 tackles and a sack last season.

ROSTER MOVE

The Dolphins signed linebacker Trevor Reilly off New England's practice squad and waived linebacker Zach Vigil.

Reilly has played in 29 career games all with the New York Jets (2014-15). He has career totals of 11 tackles (five solo), one sack, one quarterback hit and one forced fumble. Reilly also has 20 special teams stops (14 solo). He spent the past nine weeks on New England's practice squad.

Reilly played collegiately at Utah and was originally a seventh-round pick (233rd overall) by the Jets in the 2014 NFL draft.

Vigil played in 23 career games with two starts for the Dolphins (2015-16), including seven games this season.
