I don't see why a compromise can't be made between the two sides. For one I feel what Pep is doing is immature and selfish and that it is idiotic to be your own agent. He isn't smart enough to make a business decision when hes angry at the team. Why doesn't the Dolphins management make a compromise. They should sit down with Pep, figure out where he wants to play and then trade him there while he changes his contract to what he would of originally done if wed released him. Its a win win. We get a draft pick and Pep gets to play for a team he wants to be on. comments

I would agree with you, but that's too logical of a post that you have there. What we need in our organization is drama and media attention so that we can constantly get bashed. /sarcasm off

I do agree with you though. Too bad things can't go as smoothly as you think them.

We did him a diservice by not telling him earlier we were going to release him, so he could work another contract with another team, he's getting the short end of this deal, Trent had before the draft. I'd be upset too, now he's rushing and trying to find a good fit.

Man what the Dolphins are doing is making me sick. I am a life long fan. They draft Ginn and now the deal with C pep. I almost want to drop the team but I cant just all of a sudden like another team. Culpepper is anything but smart but he has put so much heart into everything he has done. I say trade him to where ever he wants even if we dont get crap for it. its the least we can do for him.

In what way did we hurt c-pep. He should have known this was going to happen. He wasn't in a closet for the last two months while we were trying to acuire Trent. Any way according to Marvez the Miami Herald Reporter, C-pep has more or less stated that he is not near 100% and probable won't be till next year. Did you want cleo lemon to play QB all year, and pay c-pep 5 mil to ride a bike again. Sometimes you need to cut your loses. C-pep should stop crying an accept the trade if not we should hold on to him until the week before the season starts and then release him. :boohoo:

I know its too logical but maybe we should go with something...i dunno smart. crazy idea. but we don't owe anything to Pep in my opinion. He didn't do anything to make us believe hes worth keeping.

there is no good fit for him out there. we're sending him away to backup for another team, and get rid of his contract. he's no longer in our plans so why does everyone care about how he's being treated.
and why do half the posters think they can judge the way Mueller is working on things, who is to say that he isnt trying his best to find a trade parter as fast as possible. i'm sure he's not sitting in his office and turning down any offers for culpepper.

Wanny did the same. Maybe we should have kept him too? We as fans have a really tough time distinguishing good people from people worth keeping around.

Both sides are doing what is in their right within the exception of one thing. Daunte has attempted to hedge the FO in the media with comments like them making his dream of becoming a Dolphin a nightmare. Those comments aren't necessary unless he's seeking sympathy. DC's not exactly in a panick situation yet, training camps don't start for another month. I could understand if the gloves sort of came off if this was the night before they were to start.

Maybe he is getting the short end of the stick at this moment, and miami got the short end of the stick last season. What we are witnessing here is Daunte melting down. He knows he is finished in the NFL. He knows this was his last shot at a big money paycheck and he is running scared. It's sad to watch an athelete who cant come to terms with the fact that the game has passed him by, but thats exactly what were watching. Minny knew what they were doing getting rid of him and we made a mistake taking him. Now we are correcting that mistake. Daunte is not helping his cause by showing himself as disgruntle. He needs to listen who is offering what for him and wiegh out his options and take the best deal offered to him. The way he is posturing himself does not bode well for a bak up postion or even as a risky starter. I think he is making people nervous about hiring him if they might need to bench him or even if it becomes necessary to trade him. He is being counter-productive to his own best intrests.

Why would he want his new team to give up a draft pick?

He knows they will cut him. I would do the same thing he is doing and nix any trade. The Phins rushed him back and out the door. I would not help them and hurt my new team. Every draft pick has great value if you have a little bit of luck and a great scouting team.

How did they rush him back? Please explain that to me. He told reporters after the 2006 preseason game vs. the Bucaneers that "his knee was fine." ........... it boggles my mind how some of you have completely disregarded his comments which contradict this accusation of being rushed.

It takes 2 years to recover from that type of injury. They gave him one year (4 games) behind a line that could not block my grandmother. Nick was not ready to let him heal and come back for the future. If you think about it you will see that he was rushed back.

Nick was not ready to let him heal and come back for the future. If you think about it you will see that he was rushed back. If Daunte wasn't ready, he should've spoken up. Nick Saban, for as big of a dick as he was, didn't hold a gun to his head. Was Daunte afraid to get yelled at? I mean what are we talking about here, play and risk future damage and setbacks?

Ahhhh I see you can't refute Daunte's own comments about the knee being fne. The prognosis was 12-18 months, but that says nothing about guys who recover quicker. Medical officials cleared him, Daunte made comments saying he was ready to go, so what else can Nick do? He's not a medical specialist.

Now I'm not going to get into the play of the O-line last year because it doesn't matter. This is 2007, we're gonna have a newly formed O-line, a new Head Coach, and a new offensive philosophy that doesn't include Daunte.

When it comes to injuries some players will not want to sit. Then again some FO's will not let them sit. The NFL is looking more into injuries now more than ever. Cpep agreed to play and he tried with his rusty game and a bad Oline. They should have given him what most anyone would agree is 2 years to return to form.

But instead of giving him 2 years. They will try to trade him and get rid of him. If they cannot trade him they will cut him near the start of the season. I'm sure when Cpep signed on the dotted line they said play really good this season or it's out the door. You may have a leg issue but we are paying you to play....lol. Chances are just like any other sport or team they both have lied to us and themselves.

I just think they should part ways and get it over with. Cut him now and let Trent Green try to groom the QB of the future. That is we hope is the future. Otherwise we have a 2 year QB (Green) and another wasted draft pick in the 2nd round. Would not surprise me if Cpep goes to Jacksonville and makes a step in the right direction of coming back to his old form.

They never should have signed Cpep if they did not plan on giving him 2 years to get back to form.
