Dolphins | Martz possible for offensive coordinator spot
Thu, 19 Jan 2006 08:54:20 -0800

Greg Cote, of the Miami Herald, reports the <A href="http://www.kffl.com/team/22/nfl">Miami Dolphins might look at former St. Louis Rams head coach Mike Martz for their vacant offensive coordinator position.

Am I the only one who thinks Saban and Martz will not get along?

I'd be alright with Martz being the new OC. But what about our WR coach!? :(

Bring back Sullivan!

So next year, we could possibly have saban + former coach of rams + former coach of the texans. That is one tough couching staff.

Similar offenses, but wasn't he having health issue?

Jerry Sulivan went to San Fran, but who knows if he is still there with the coaching change

They wouldn't get along, but that isn't a requirement for having success.

My question is this... I wonder how Martz would handle being told he's not allowed to speak to the meadia... ever. My guess is that would piss him off.

He would only take an OC job here (or anywhere else) as a stepping stone to be a HC again. Not being allowed to speak to the media would be a deterrent to that goal...

However, Linehan wasn't allowed to speak to the media, and he just snatched up Martz's job, so...... maybe it's not that big of a deal.

Thoughts?

Martz is an offensive genius as far as passing plays are concerned, however Saban would have to overrule him a lot since Martz does not run the ball at all and that would not suit our scheme very well. I vote NO

Bleh until they say a team has actually talked to someone everyone who currently doesn't have a job is a possibility. Lousy reporting.

I'd be more then alright with that move, when he was with the Rams and was their OC they made the SB and won. Yeah, I'll take him.
